Winning tickets in freerolls

The players in here spend much time and effort to win a ticket in various ways. I really think we should be allowed to donate those tickets to other players in here to help them out, but its not allowed. I personally don’t think that’s right. I have brought this up before, but its pretty obvious its all about wanting more revenue, so I kind of get it I guess, But I don’t agree with it. Just my 2 cents.

Howie, where would “helping players” stop if this was allowed? Consider all the players who have not won tickets but try most days to win them, - it would be totally unfair on these players if it was possible to donate the tickets you have won. Then you would get players wanting to donate their chips to other players, or to cheat at the tables by donating chips to friends, but this again would be totally unfair on the rest of the players at the table who were playing honestly and by the rules.
The tickets you have won are yours to use to play the tables or the competitions, and this if the only way you can prevent eventual collusion on the site.

I honestly don’t think you get.it. Its called charity to help other who are perhaps struggling with being able to win money by using a ticket. Has NOTHING to do with collusion, whatsoever. Lets face it, Replay can’t make money off that, if its allowed. Period. That’s the bottom line isn’t it? LOL

Hiya Howie
I have to humbly disagree, I would never think of poker as a charitable game really, it’s all about wiping people out and taking all they have as ruthlessly and efficiently as possible, lol.
Maybe I need to be nicer person  Cheers

In real poker I agree. This isn’t real poker is it?

Hi Howie,

Just a bunch of semi-random thoughts inspired by your post…

There are good reasons for not allowing player to player transfers, chief among them is probably how easily abused such a system would be.

If these players you want to give tickets to are such poor players they cannot win their own tickets gifting them tickets won’t do them any good.

The time and effort put into winning a ticket is what gives it its value… giving them away diminishes that value.

Give a person a fish you feed them for a day, teach a person to fish you feed them for life.

Tickets for ticket only games are meant to be won as these games are meant for those skilled (or lucky) enough to beat all those other players in the qualifying tournament.

There are three ways that I know of to obtain tickets:

  1. Win one in a tournament
  2. Collect free ones via promotions page
  3. Visit Replay Poker every day and receive free streak tickets

If you do not want or need the tickets, why do you play those tournaments?

For the life of me I cannot see the connection between a ticket won in a freeroll, not being able to give it away, and Replay revenue. Can you connect those dots for me?

As far as I can tell, freerolls do not require any chips to play and all those players you want to help out have plenty of opportunity to play for free and as far as chips go, don’t forget about the daily bonus, free top ups, and chips given away on the promo page.

If you really want to help struggling players I can think of two ways off the top of my head:

  1. Buy them some chips (I know… revenue again)
  2. Start a private league and invite those struggling players and help them to learn how to play better poker (back to the fish saying)

Peace!

Thanks for the reply. Lets see if I can address some of the things you mentioned. Its not that I don’t want the tickets, its more about the time I have to be able to use them. Owning and using a ticket for a buy in ticket doesn’t guarantee you can turn that ticket into chip when we have the cut line like all tourneys. I played a Royal tourney the other night with just under 30 payers in it and it only paid out 3 players. So a ticket doesn’t always translate into chips. lucky for me I finished in 2nd place. The whole collusion aspect you both have brought up never even entered my mind. I have many friends in here I talk to on a regular basis that I thought would appreciate a gift on Easter or Christmas or some other special day. I guess its a moot point at this juncture, since I don’t see a policy change any time soon. I just thought it would be a nice gesture, that’s all. Nothing more than that.

If you wish to help and support a friend, you can purchase chips for them here in exactly the same way as you can in real poker:

I know that. Thanks

I am not saying that you would abuse the the system but I know for sure that others would. The simplest way I can think of is opening multiple accounts and transferring chips and tickets to one. Yes I know that one is probably easily detected but it would happen along with other schemes. If the mechanism is in place it will be abused and so you are not able make that nice gesture for your friends. Yes, it sucks, but there it is.
Peace!
