Who is watching who?

So… I have never created a topic before so for those that know me then i think you will get that this one is important for me

yep I have just lost 86 mil chips blah blah but i want to make very clear that is not me having a rant because I have lost - that is just the norm for me

My rant is that is does my head in that no matter where I play I have watchers

people I know like Tuff, Sass, Mr M , Becs announce themselves - either to congratulate me or to commiserate me

At times I feel like I am being trolled - or at times I am trolled (gin and tonic  so 50 /50 but still i feel its a bit weird

it has started to annoy me - and trust me Tiggy does not get annoyed so I am going to make a stance - would like to see replay have in the product road map for future development that you see who the watchers are

My dad always said if it annoys you fight and if it doesn’t get sorted you walk way …

I would love to say I am inserted in peoples views but unless you agree I am really am not… #honesttiggy

I agree that we should be able to see who is watching the table. I don’t mind people watching or chatting with myself or others at the table, but it is kind of weird when there are lots of watchers and nobody is talking. It makes you wonder who they are watching. Personally, I take it as a compliment that there are often watchers at my tables. If people are watching you, but not visiting, then I would assume that either you are an exciting player to watch and/or they are trying to learn something from watching you play. Nobody watches bad players :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

When in a game shouldn’t we all be watching the players at the table and not worrying about who is in the attic watching? I watch a table for a few minutes before deciding if I want to play there (ring tables ofc) Stop and consider that maybe observers are trying to
learn from others and how they play. Besides why think they are watching YOU lol. Maybe it’s the DEALER lol.

I watch certain players to try and learn certain tactics, if you are in the process of losing 86m, then you would be of no interest to me. Maybe a touch of paranoia? Happy pokering.

I also don’t mind the watchers , there are many reasons why someone might watch.I just assume they are not there to watch me , friends who sometimes pop on to say hi or gl make themselves known.

If you’re at a casino playing a live cash game and a person or a few people wander up and watch your table for a few minutes but don’t introduce themselves and then wander off again, does it matter? And if it doesn’t matter in that context, is there a reason why it would matter in this one?

The only thing that annoys me about a bunch of watchers at a table is when something like 4 of 9 seats are filled and there’s 5 or 6 watchers who stick around for multiple hands. Then someone takes out one of the remaining players and everyone else leaves so the table basically evaporates thanks to more people watching than playing.

At least in a casino you can see the people watching. If the same person was following me to watch my live games, it would concern me. As a woman, I sometimes get inappropriate comments directed my way and though I shut them down and/or report them, there have been a couple players who seemed to show up at any table I played for a couple days afterward. I’ve tilted people with the same result. Of course these people were vocal, so you knew they were there, but allowing the watchers to remain anonymous just makes it easier for the weirdos. I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t be allowed to know who is watching. JMO

Always seems to be someone watching me, I just pretend it’s the replay staff making sure I don’t say something stupid to someone :):grimacing:

Making inappropriate comments towards players is considerably different than just lurking at a table. I would hope that anyone crossing that line would get booted from this (or any other) website or kicked out of any casino and not allowed to return.

For me, it would bother me more to have lurkers at a live game. Here, they are just a number up in the corner and most of the time I don’t even notice if anyone’s watching at all.

But then I’m also male, so generally take for granted that no one is there specifically to watch me, harass me, or start following me around. In any case those are all perfectly legitimate concerns that online culture is still doing a lousy job of addressing.

Order up a big helping of Purina Grown-Up Chow and get over it. If someone isn’t interfering with the game, there’s no valid reason to remove them or to have their identities revealed. They are spectators, nothing more.

In real life if someone is watching you playing, you know his face, gender and age. If someone is following you, you will know. Here its not the case. I vote for revealing the watcher’s name. I don’t see many reasons (may be few, but the disadvantage outweighs the advantage) why the watchers should be in hiding. In case of woman players it could even be stalking.

If someone wants to stalk me they are more than welcome …they will lose interest soon enough and move on or maybe not… I am entertaining …lol

I like stalking you Sharon.

Anyway, I think it’s kinda rude to be a spectator and not at least say hi so people know who is watching. You don’t have to be a chatty as me, but at least announce that you’re there.
