What would you do? Tough spot

up_and_down opened 2.2bb UTG, Hero 3-bet to 8bb, UTG and BB (Totheriver) both call.
check to Hero on flop, cbet 40%, Totheriver goes all-in for like 20x lol

hypothetically there are a number of bluffs he can have here…
but realistically I think I’m looking at a lot of KT :frowning: he may not even 4bet AQ pre, so he can have all those combos, too

what would you do in this spot?

Tough spot? Hell this is flat out gross.

Fold.

Unless I knew Villain was an overbluffer. Even then.

Truth be told, I absolutely HATE pairing a straighty board. Even 2-pair, probably worse. I’ve lost so many pots to this it’s disgusting. Especially on broadway boards. One of you has 2-pair and the other has the straight. I want the straight.

When people call 3-bets pre, they usually have broadways. I don’t know about you but whenever I call this it is always JT - ALWAYS. Not only that but Hero doesn’t block the spades neither. We NEED a boat here. Our pot odds are atrocious. get outta here.

Yup, I think it is fine to overfold here with 2pair. Worth noting that I think unblocking spades is GOOD for us; we want villain to have hands like KsQs, Ks9s, Ts8s, etc.

Also worth noting that V does not have to be overbluffing for this call to be profitable; they just need to have a “normal” amount of bluffs, which a lot of players simply will not. Most players are underbluffing for huge sizes, especially on Replay in tighter configurations.

Easy, here i call, REAL money- out like a light:)

This makes me curious. I looked up your account. You have 1.2B chips. That bet was like 15% of your bankroll. Not your stack - your BANKROLL! One street! Holy be-jeezus!

Them having spades is probably the best possible situation for us, but it’s still not great. Even using a very optimistic range you’re only just getting the odds to call. In reality, I don’t think this is even close. You can have all the sets here, so this is basically just KT.

Like I said, if you Pair the Straight-y Board you always lose to the straight, especially if it’s broadways. Never fails.

Well, in that spot it’s basically impossible for them to have worse than a straight. They can’t bluff, and worse made hands either won’t raise the river or don’t check behind on the double flush draw turn. It’s gross, and I still don’t always find it in game, but this is a trivial fold.

And Again. Yup, every time.

I wanted to fold but the stacks I wanted the knockout.

How did the hand arrive at this point? The 24 mill in the pot suggests you limped in rather than raise from a strong position and the big blind didn’t raise. I’d put him on 9-10 more than K-10, on a spade draw, or both. Beyond that, oodles of players slowplay monsters out of the bb, so AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AK, and AQ can’t be ruled out, nor can AJ, QJ, KQ, KJ, and you’re only beating three of those hands. Of course, he could be bluffing with a middle pair, a low A, Q, J, or complete garbage.

Overall, if he isn’t holding the goods now, there’s a good chance he’ll run you down. You don’t have a lot invested in the pot. I don’t see much value in calling. Fold, and be more aggressive with strong hands in good position going forward.

@pickettpocket I think this was a 3bet pot, at the very least it was single-raised. I ain’t limping from the CO with AJs <3

You didn’t watch the hand?

Younguru even spelled it out in the opening post, he 3bet pre and got 2 calls.

Sorry, first foray into this forum. Wasn’t aware the image was linked, and the commentary for it was below both the image and the reply button, so I just asked.

I learned more about navigating the forum when I scrolled to another thread. Still, with hindsight being 20/20, I think I prefer analyzing the situation without knowing the opponent’s hand or outcome. It’s more on point and less critical of your play, whatever that was.

Now aware of the preflop action, the only change I’d make to my analysis is that the possibility of him holding K10, a better two pair, or Js is higher, with a bluff less likely. All the more reason to not invest significantly more into the hand. If he is bluffing, more power to him. Not to say there’s anything wrong with picking your spots, but playing a (to put it politely) more carefree style only increases your variance.

I think I’m around an 80% dog with two pair on a str8 board.
