What was your first motorcycle and why did you choose it?

My apologies for going off topic, this usually happens when you get riders and drivers of fast cars in the same place. we all have so many stories.

I was never one for taking photographs on my travels, I was moaning many years later, back in Edinburgh, how I felt silly for not taking one of the Enfield, a Scottish pal who had been the same places as me before me helped me, she had been there the day Prashant had bought the bike, I bought it off him about 4 years later, but this is the bike I bought, Prashant loved this bike, and was much the same when I got it, not so pretty when I had finished though, I squiggled out the faces, no idea who the woman on the back is

Bought a Horex hill climbing bike in 1956 while stationed in Germany(at 17) from NCO going back to states.(spills included cobblestones, railroad tracks and sheep herds. Got me around the small city of Ulm (drunk) just fine. Picked up a 250 cc BMV which took me to Austria, Switzerland, Italy; later trip to Ireland it crapped out in Calais. Hoofed it from there. Drank to Oblivian until 44, sobered, retired 2003, 1st on bucket list Honda Shadow (too light for ‘over the road’) settled on Kawasaki; great machine. Florida drivers drove me of the road at 80.

My first bike was a CZ 175 trail bike. This experience was fantastic; sand, forest and mountain were my paradises, more than Fifty Years Ago!

I think a lot of our first bikes involved trial riding, fun, fun, fun.

I rode a Softail. Worked at Custom Chrome/Global Motorsports in Morgan Hill CA for a few years. We did trade shows at biker rallies in Hollister, Sturgis, Redwoods, etc. Good times! Had a dedicated parking lot for bikes outside the lobby. Love to ride

Was just looking at the photo again, it’s a great looking bike and something to be cherished and I hope you never sell it, well done with the build.
I don’t know if my back could handle a hard tail bike but looks ultra cool :sunglasses:

This is my present bike, got it’s first wash for a couple of months before I took the photo
I was given it by a friend as a gift. He came into some unexpected cash and treated himself to a new bike, and he gave me his old one, best present I have ever gotten by quite a margin.
I had been plodding about on my trusty old Honda Dominator for many years before this one. It was hard to keep up with the sports bike guys on biking holidays on the dommie, no such problems on this.
