For me, the tourney breaks are usually too short.
I was in the last hand before the break today, once the hand was over the break time was shortened a bit.
By the time I returned to the game, it was already going and I was sat out.
I clicked on sit back in, a few times for that matter.
I became BB, was super short stacked, but had a shot with ace 6, but unfortunately the bet came around to me where I was all in, and it just folded me even though I’d tried to sit in a few times.
A bit frusturating, I might have gone down anyway, although you never know.
I once won a tourney when I was down to 800 chips and the BB was 600.
So what happened is why I think the break should be 8 minutes.
Have a great day.
the clock never stops running during the breaks… so longer breaks would mean gigger blinds when the game restarts.
bigger
5 minutes are pretty much standard in online poker (save for some special tournaments) however — as far as I know — everywhere else the breaks are synchronised on both ends i.e. they start and end at the same time for all tables. Replay is the only site I know where the break start is not synchronised which means some players will only have a couple of minutes, in particular when the table is generally slow, or the last hand before a break is extremely slow. Would be great if this could be fixed, then 5 minutes should be fine.
ot, but is there a reason that rebuy tournaments dont get a regular break ?
I agree 5 minutes should be fine, but since I was in the last hand before break in the tourney I mentioned, I really only got about 4 minutes. Unfortunately for me I returned about a minute late and was sat out and it wouldn’t let me sit back in, even though I tried.
The players in that six-seater MTT were playing quickly, I had already missed two hands, became UTG and thought I clicked in time to sit back in, but apparently missed it by 1/2 second.
I kept trying to sit back in, but once I became BB, UTG bet, everyone else folded, then it folded me giving UTG the last of my chips.
Just one extra minute of breaktime would do for an old guy like me, or if there was some way to have each table get 5 minutes after the last hand before break finishes.
I often find myself auto-folding what I “think” is the last hand before break so I have a little extra time, don’t want to get caught playing that last hand late, really poor play on my part.
I’ll say that a 6 minute break would be ideal, that way if your in the last hand beforehand late, you still get 5 minutes. It wouldn’t change in any way for the blinds getting bigger, just add a minute to the length of the tourney.
Enjoy the magic of poker
I am curious to know (not in too much detail please!) just why a longer “comfort” break is needed. Personally I find two minutes plenty and usually manage to make a coffee (or pour a wine, whichever is appropriate) and make a little snack all within the allocated five minutes. Perhaps it is because we ladies are used to multi-tasking!
Without going into too much detail If you live in a home together with a few people, 5 minutes might be just enough for using the loo and/or fixing a drink, unless I put up signs everywhere saying “Do not use during my poker breaks” Just saying people might use a break for all sorts of things and should be able to do so without stressing about missing a pair of Aces right after the break
I find 5 mins plenty time for a break and a breather, however I would like the breaks to be synchronised so all tournaments are on break at the same time. Makes multi tables easier.
Between the restroom and perhaps a drink, my personal problem is that I smoke, thus I’m lucky to get a halfie in before being late. Fortunately I’m a guy and live on 10 acres so I can “go” outside while smoking
Larry, I believe rebuys take a break after the rebuy period, then follow the usual schedule of breaks from there, so you actually get like an extra break.
“Why does the break times always have to be consistent.”
Rotate 2 Minutes - 5 Minutes - 8 Minutes
“Why always wait an hour for a break?”
Could be three breaks at 1/2 Hour - 45 Minutes - 1 Hour
Considering the average age of the players being high, this would be more appropriate.
Replay Poker would be known more as a player friendly site having the breaks set this way.
I do know there’s a certain percentage of players that do not want any breaks.
Cannot please everyone unless Replay held an occasional break free tournament.
In any way that Replay can improve their site, I’m all for it.
Then again, Replay needs to focus on the areas that need the most attention first.
you get the short rebuy break, then it skips the hourly and then you get a break after another hour
- not sure i -or anyone else- ever made it to that break, blinds and all?
There must be a glitch in the system, you’re supposed to get a 5 minute break after the rebuy period, and then a 5 minute break after an hour, then another an hour later.
The other glitch I was moaning about is that I couldn’t get sat back in.
I have had that happen to me before, but when not so short stacked, to whereas I just restarted my computer and missed several hands, but then was able to sit back in. Not sure why this occasionally happens.
its been like that since at least a year (i dont know any different)?
- had
Yesterday i had to refresh my window -multiple times- on every re-seat, as it would hang/freeze after the active player seemingly timed out
