It is not worth it.
I have been playing on RP for over 2 years, it’s the only game I can remember that I haven’t bought a sub for. Every other game compelled regulars to buy one because the rewards are simply OP.
I would love to contribute since I play here almost daily, but I don’t need 3000 extra chips a day. I don’t know what would be balanced to give to subscribers, I would think a higher % of prizes. For example if a tournament win gives 100K, subbers get at least 150. Rewards are double in most games. I think it would make all regulars want to have a sub. At least it would make me buy one.
Thanks for reading.
They do have something like what you’re asking. Go to the Bank in the drop-down menu and scroll to the bottom of the page.
Thanks for the reply.
I actually saw the VIP offer, which made me post here. It’s not worth it.
Subs for regular players everywhere are a “must have”, this is not.
Sorry I didn’t understand your use of subs. You’re used to paying just to play on a Free poker site. Why?
I don’t put my credit card info out on the internet without being sure of certain precautions and I don’t use Paypal or something similar. Now if they would use that encryption program which hides your cc number I’d buy the VIP noted above.
Some people might want to support the site and help keep it around. It’s not necessarily paying to play it is paying to support the cost of upkeep and getting rewarded for it. I dont think premium members should get more of a payout for tourneys open to everyone, as the payouts are just based on the pool of chips payed to play. Idk what would be satisfactory to the subbers.
No, this is the only app I play poker on. For example, I play a racing sim that gets my $30/month. I have played many “freemiums”, on all of them if I stayed I ended up buying a sub.
I simply don’t want my chips to be bought. But I wouldn’t mind the tickets and the custom table benefits that sounds cool.
I don’t think this is true. I’m pretty sure they would receive the same payout amount as any other player who was able to cash in a tourney.
There are a lot of Premium members reading the forum hopefully they will comment.
Actually, this doesn’t make sense to me since the payouts are based on the number of players less the tourney fees which is distributed on some set number, for example I’ve seen 4,9 and 15 places etc..
The higher payouts for premium members are what the OP suggested should happen - no-one is saying that is currently the case.
I don’t think chips is what membership should get you at all. I mean it’s fine to offer a few token chips, but you really can’t offer enough to be meaningful to many players without destroying the game for the non-members. There are quite a few features I’d at least consider paying for though:
- being able to download hand histories
- being able work in big blinds
- custom bet sizing buttons
- and many more
I really do wish people would read the thread before picking things out of context.
I thought I did read your post correctly and highlighted the part which raised my response which part was incorrect?
The fact that I was responding to what the person who made the thread was suggesting
It’s all good though no worries. I also think you misinterpreted his gripe in the first place since you responded with the pic of where to get the membership. He was saying he didn’t feel compelled to buy it, not that they don’t advertise it.

This was the portion of his post which was what I was responding to.
I avoid monthly subscriptions where ever I can. The Premium Benefits are of no use to me. Some years ago when the Tip Jar was available I used to donate fairly regularly and the annual total was sometimes larger than the Premium fee, but that was my choice.
The Premium membership benefits are of good value to me. The benefits are minimal. But definitely enough for my needs. Might be cool to be able to send gifts to players. Also you’re missing an opportunity to promote the premium memberships. The psychology is simple. Give a cool graphic inidicator for primo members while at the tables. This would advertise themembership exponentially and passively yield new members…bet me.
Bottom line (in it’s current state): it’s not worth it.
I just saw a few more threads about the subject, RP has not reacted to any of them. It means they are happy with their model. Who am I to argue.
To support you can gift lindano some chips. : )
