The fairness debate

It’s impossible to not hit the leaderboard, so it’s hardly pointless. You can only go up.

now THAT’S unfair

clearly the site is rigged for players like DARLINGGIRL to get lucky playing trash hands while good players like me who play REAL poker are constantly beat on the river, forcing us to buy more chips!

Lol!! Or she’s got your number. She reeled you in pretty good that time. Remember you were the one who went all-in, she probably would’ve been satisfied with just 100 million of your chips.

Reviewing the Replay again, I think you would’ve lost the same amount of chips which you did lose by the River anyway, the way the Streets hit the board. Didn’t appear you had her on a set but maybe a 4 flush and she therefore had you beat on every street.

I give up… believe any thing you want…I say … if your hand is not worth betting… pre flop… just toss it in the muck… preflop bet the good hands and in the long run… you will win… its the big secret of replay poker…

Uhh, she flopped a set of As. She wants it all, bro.

I flopped top 2pair in a 3bet pot, there was no way I wasn’t getting stacked here <3
also in case you could not tell - I was being sarcastic :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Plausible deniability is very old and very effective. That’s is what certification provides. The end.

Oh, I had no problem with your play. I was just commenting that Darling seemed to have your number almost like she realized you had at least the Ace by your betting. It was just a matter of how to reel you in.

You have to admit Darling played the hand very well.

She played it great, but I think you’re getting carried away talking about “having my number” or “reeling me in.” Again, it’s top set versus top two pair in a 3bet pot. The money was always going in. I don’t mean to discredit DG who is a very tough opponent, but this was a case where the cards did most of the talking and “the hand plays itself.”

She could’ve just open shoved and the result would’ve been the same.

Again, I agree but she didn’t do that.

Yes, she did a great job getting max value in a setup configuration.

Don’t be offended by my “poker” phrases which I’ve used. Again, I saw no problem with your play in the hand except maybe …

I don’t know… 3-betting the flop with a hand that’s pretty invulnerable is not an ideal play.
The board looks wet, but an oesd is not possible, so even in the worst case we’re 66% to win here, and more likely ~85%. There are cards that can kill our action, but we’re usually getting in at least one more street against any hand that will call. Alternatively, if we ever fold out AK or A5, that’s a bit of a disaster - likewise for draws that might continue to barrel.
DG is capable of 3-betting 3d4d here, so doing the same with value is definitely fine, but with top set specifically the best play has to be to just call. I’d stop short of saying they played the hand very well. I think they played it fine but were slightly lucky to extract max value.

Well, I found the hand enjoyable to watch. The Dramatic pause after the flop and both long pauses after the flop re-raises gave me a chuckle after finding what they both had.

A lot of Drama was going on in that hand!! Acting weak in poker is apparently not dead.

Watching people lose huge pots with top of range is always entertaining- when it isn’t me

I wasn’t implying watching players losing large amounts was entertaining but the way it was played especially the dramatic pauses.

I realize you’re joking, right? I don’t want someone thinking that part is funny to me. But everyone decides what stakes to play and should expect this happening.

Of course joking. The pauses aren’t for drama though, or even really to disguise strong hands. It’s more to protect the bluffs. You don’t want to be pulling trigger on a big bluff without thinking about ranges, pot odds and stack sizes. If you can’t insta-raise a bluff then you don’t want to do it with value either.

I don’t want to keep dragging this out, but your comments are generating more from me. I just have a feeling the pauses in this hand were longer than really necessary. I myself have pauses but usually it’s because I’m fiddling with the slider and want to select an amount which I think will be called when I have a good hand.

Getting back to my entertainment comment. I’ve always enjoyed watching replays not to see players lose but rather to see how they play which I consider is (was) one of the best features on Replay for me. I mentioned in another thread they made a change to the replays which caused me not to replay as many hands anymore.
