Report Chat Feature?

I was at a table the other day and a player was being pretty verbally abusive to another player. I know you can just turn off the chat feature but why is there no way to do a report player or chat function?

@K-Mart905

I see that you’re new to the site.

Every hand is recorded hence the name Replay poker. I haven’t seen abusive chat behavior in a number of years. I would think you could jot down the Hand Number(s) noted in the upper left corner of each hand and report them using the (?) symbol in the upper right corner on most pages. There are other ways to report abusive behavior but I think this is the easiest.
A Staff member can then review the abusive chat at their leisure this way.

I hope this helps.

Thanks! :+1:

If you click on the player then click their picture near the chat it opens up their profile which contains a report player button

Hi K-Mart905, :smiley:
I am sorry you had to deal with that. In addition to smooth99’s advice you can also report a player at the table by clicking on their name or icon and then in the chatbox clicking on the triangle with the exclamation mark in it. Hope this helps.
Cheers!

When you report it this way, does Staff see the specific abusive chat comments?

yes, especially with the hand number for a starting spot

Or check for a Moderator at the bottom of the lobby page and send them a pm with hand and table number and player’s name.

@will_lira

That is my related question when reporting abusive chat this way, is the hand number included when the player is flagged this way? Or, do you also have to include the hand number(s)?

I like Smooth and easy.

I don’t think it does, but they have the time if you are reporting it just after it happened. I will leave this up to staff to answer properly as they know what they are talking about!

All chat is saved and can be observed during hand replays. I am not sure that a hand number is attached to the report when using the report player button but I would bet the reports are time-stamped and with that and the complainants handle and the villains handle, finding the offensive chat should be a breeze for the staff. That being said, more info is probably better than less so if you have it I would include the hand number anyway.
Cheers! :grinning:

what constitutes “abusive chat”? Calling someone a donk or a clown…fool?

Chat and Personal Messages

Keep it friendly on and off the tables! We encourage you to get to know other players on Replay Poker, and some good-natured competitive chat is always welcome. However, it’s important that you’re cordial to other players, and avoid the following:

  • Rudeness of any kind, including vulgarity, trolling, impatience, spamming, site bashing, aggressive use of all-caps, or insults.
  • Racism, sexism, homophobia or transphobia, or any targeted hate speech or slurs.
  • Religion and politics. These are sensitive subjects that often lead to conflicts. Keep these discussions off the tables.
  • References to the cards you hold in an active hand, cheating, collusion, criminal activity, or advertisements.

This is from site rules, located at the bottom of the dashboard page

I would say abusive chat is in the eye of the beholder.

My advice is use your judgement. If you beat someone’s pocket rockets with two pair 7’s and 2’s and they call you a donk followed by a smiley face it is probably just friendly banter. On the other hand constant name calling and ranting is probably worth reporting. Any of the other offenses mentioned in will_lira’s reply I would report as well.
Cheers!

The only way Staff knows what hand is in question is when you tell them, It does not attach to the report. The same for the table number.
