The chips allocated for 20K and 50K games have been reduced to 1500. For 50k this is half the 3000 it used to be, 2500 for 20K. Is this and error? It changes the entire dynamics of the games.
I came here specifically to find an answer to the same question. Is this a permanent thing?
Thank you for bringing this up. I am getting it checked out for you.
Thanks for the question.
The intention was to create a slightly different format for a short promotional week and long term try and freshen up the Astral League.
For this week only, during the triple Leaderboard boosted week, all the Astral tiers chip stacks are the same. Next week, they will return to the normal start stacks.
Long term we are looking to make the LB prizes bigger permanently. There will be a survey sent out to request suggestions and thoughts on the Astral League games in general.
If anyone has any thoughts, please feel free to share.

WHY??
This spoils the Astral League the 100K buy in used to be a great solid game. Now with a starting stack of 1500 and fast clock - will not be playing them
is a bad idea…
Outstanding idea Rob
this also impacts players who was already in the monthly Astral - This should have been done not 1 weeks to go before a monthly promo that is established in place.
It’s a very bad idea as it changes the entire dynamics of the game and the ‘value for money’ in paying for the chips. The strategy in playing the games has to be very different. Makes no sense to do mid-stream in various competitions. Why do it for one week??? Silly!!! Are you trying to make players burn chips faster so they have to buy more?
It’s a horrible idea to reduce the starting stack. 1500 is too little. It becomes more of a bingo game. You don’t have enough opportunity and time to really play the game.
I agree. Not sure why it was done! I suspect they thought quicker games would mean more games and more interest without realising how much it changes the dynamics and strategy.
Agree, the 100K 9 seater Astral often goes to the break and played for over an hour as its a great game of Poker. also I don’t see anybody in the lobby waiting to play
Thanks. I’m waiting to see the survey as you have a great site and sometimes it’s best to leave a working system alone. Cutting the chip stack in half makes for brutal play and I’m not a fan of it. Now we just need to figure out a way to get you guys making money besides just chip buys.

The unanswered question is WHY?
Did you want to:
Speed up the play - that has worked
Get more chips burnt - that has worked
Get more people playing the 50K game - that appears not to have worked
Change the entire dynamics of the game - that has certainly worked
Make the 20K, 50K and 100K strategies very similar with same number of chips - that has certainly worked. You pay more to get the same number of starting chips.
Get top end players to play smaller buy-in games - That has probably worked.
Is this where the Astral League games are heading in the future?
It does change the aspect of the game and makes no sense… Glad you ask
JustlyFishy I been looking trying to figure out why. Could have told somebody they we’re going to do it…
Bring on the Survey and let me tell you what I think.
I don’t get why RP makes changes without first notifying players and trying to get feedback. Like some news and announcements would be nice?
Personally I almost never bother playing SNG or MTT bc almost every game is short stacked turbo.
Short stacked, fast blind structured poker isn’t good, worthwhile poker IMO. This promotes more luck, bingo and less intelligent poker. Transitioning to other bad poker sites and apps like zinga and WSOP app?
I agree. I guess they figure for every 10 people they lose the gain 100 more.
