Question: Why do players limp monster hands on extremely limp happy, passive tables?

Geez, you just made me spit out my food lol:) but your right lol

I know that I am not going to win every hand. And I know that there is no strategy to do that. But what I can do, and do try to do is try to play in such a way to have a better chance to not get into too much trouble, and to have a better chance to win, profit more from each hand.

If that means the better way to play is to either raise or call or limp or squeeze, or fold, etc, whatever that is, then hopefully I do that, try to do that, whatever it is depending on situation.

I think the reason to raise preflop is a COMBINATION of BOTH trying to build a larger pot to win, AND equity denial.

Yeah sure your right that not going to make it so that only get 1,2 callers. But you can probably have only about 3,4,5,6 callers instead of 6 to 9 callers at a 6 and 9 player table, instead of everyone calling, at least most of time(sometimes will still get everyone calling)

Your right about what you said about squeezing, that all I can do is do it slightly less often, do it in good spots, do it in moderation, do it with a good image, do it on button, cut off, sb, bb, dont do it if UTG limp, do on limp happy passive nobody raising tables, etc.

And if run into Donk limp trap on limp happy passive nobody raises table, then so be it.

PERFECT SYNOPSIS!

Yet Ya forgot to request more poker jargon

The price of playing with free chips. This is nothing like playing with your real money.

So many players give importance to the luck factor to justify that they lost it is a fact, but if by chance they show variance and regularity and they still lose then they are forced to recognize that their approach failed them, whatever the format. The guys who dominate chess would not last 2 days against the best players whether online or live. Poker will remain the hardest of brain sports where you play sitting down but also where you get up regularly until the moment when you no longer need to sit down.

Guess u have not played on line cash games-seem MANY ppl. have the courage to push that button and lose money n later say " it is real money gone " actually not much different then on this fun free site—Now at the Casini, ppl. seem to play MUCH different and better for some reason.

Someone called my all-in with 7 high the other day at an online cash site. I got called once by 53s on a board containing a deuce - so I guess they were beating my 43s  Those are obviously players who don’t even understands the basics of poker rather than those that just don’t care about money, but there’s plenty of both in online cash games.
I think the level of play is slightly higher on average, but like you say, not that different, and you’re still going to see the same random stuff at real money online as you do here.

My opinion is, players quickly realize when someone always bluffs or bluffs frequently out of position. In this instance IMO, the individual decided any two cards.

Always smile when you go all-in and make them think about it.

It’s pretty hard to find a board where 7 can possibly be winning, and I don’t think this was one of them. They weren’t even beating 72 in this instance, if they’d put me on that for some reason.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a poorly programmed bot. It was a bizarre hand.

I play weekly cash games. I have done so in los Angeles and now Michigan, since 1992. It is small stakes, but i know what it feels like to loose 1,000 on a Friday night. I have a small bankroll and it is enough to allow me to play , in a game i love.

I just got done playing small cash game-i swear they were worse than most players here (weekend we get them ). A guy called my house with nothing but his A kicker in hand ( board had pair and possible straight n flush ) and the pot was a nice size one–amazing, i honestly wonder if he understood poker or not:)

I don’t know if this complaint belongs here but the biggest problem on replay is ppl who play multiple tourneys at same time or multiple tables in ring games. One guy said he plays 6 tourneys at a time. Playing these ppl sucks. They will often call anything that’s an all in no matter the cards. They don’t have the time to really play right so its all in calls and hope. Thw worst part is its encouraged by Replay and you can even get a badge for it, THIS ruins many tables!!

Many use some caution pre flop as there is a huge difference between a good hole and a “Monster Hand” We can place a value bet on good holes but until we see a flop it’s just a pair or whatever.

(Said the guy who called all in with the Diaper)

People limp huge hands because they don’t know how to maximize the value of their hands. inexperienced or just plain bad players. Just my 2 cents.

yup, multiple players above stated they minraise when they have a big hand because they don’t want opponents to fold. this is backwards thinking!

99% agree on betting a great hand, However when u have the nuts on the flop it can pay better to sandbag it and let others bet for you at least until the turn or river, see if they can build a weaker hand.
