Post Hands to Review

We talked a bit about capping hands/ranges earlier and this just came out today.

Denying equity is an important concept that it seems like Iā€™m forgetting. Betting and taking a 3bet pot has to be considered a win. Recently it seems like Iā€™m evaluating each street based on whether or not Iā€™m ahead and how to get value, but even if he has a pocket pair that gives up on the flop it could turn into a well disguised set on the turn or a draw that puts me under pressure. Equity denial is a key reason to bet vulnerable hands.

As for the QT hand, I think raising the turn is technically the better play. It gives you 2 potential barrels to fire, looks super strong, denies equity, and can turn into value if a queen hits. My thinking at the time was that I wanted to see if heā€™d give up on the river. I figured, as a good player, he would not triple barrel bluff this board very often out position, and it was safe enough that big pairs and sets would triple barrel. So, my thought was that raising the turn is risky because he can have AA or sets, and even if heā€™s bluffing, he could come back over the top. But when he checks the river, I take a lot of strength out of his range, and I donā€™t think he is balanced between bluffs and hands that can call what looks like a value bet. He is not used to players floating multiple streets and making value bet river bluffs. It is a pretty iffy play to make very often and there really is no reason to take the chance when thereā€™s lots of value to be had, but I guess I was trying to balance all the hands I fold versus barrels.

Just wanted to share this hand which barely lasted seconds.

Is there any statistics available for the official fastest game ?

i had him on Kx all the way. i know iā€™m a newbie, but should i have been able to see this coming, in the time i have to think about it?

When the UTG player (1st to act preflop) comes in for an open raise, that represents the strongest possible range of hands. With typical players, that range is TT+, AJs+, AQo+. So, the mistake was in calling with KQo from a bad position. All of your TP (top pair) hands are dominated by the UTG range and so you will tend to lose a lot of chips when you both hit the flop. Your KQ meets his AK or AQ on a K or Q high flop and its going to be expensive.

KQo looks like a pretty hand but in reality only is in the right spots. Try to think about what the other player may have 1st and then decide how your hand would fare against it if you connect with the board. Rule #1 of poker is to try and avoid spots that are going to be difficult for you to navigate.

I would like feed back on this hand please.

Go to next hand to see taunting.

Iā€™m in cutoff low on chips, I have suited connector 9ā™¦10ā™¦ no raise from the field, I call, my left who is short stacked pushes, all fold but my right, who I know can be pushed off most bets after flop with a good raise. I end up winning pot with full house, but taunted with 910? really & bingo. give it to me straight guys. I donā€™t have issue with this play.

So, ignoring the hand and just addressing the tauntingā€¦ the guy who accused you of bingo has been playing here more than 3 years and has less than a million chips. Who cares what he says? Maybe he thinks everyone should play how he plays so they can be broke too.

The 55 guy shoves a small pair, then complains about your call. If someone calls there, they will almost always have 2 overs. Does it really matter which ones they have? Sour grapes make the best whine.

If you donā€™t have issues with your play, that should be enough. Betting 400 into a 6K+ pot on the flop seemed kinda goofy, but it got the other guy to fold. Eh, whatever!

Hand #1148658253

Interesting hand!

You know, Iā€™m always watching trends and did notice the kings and queens traveling together.

I give a lot of credit to the ones that notice it too and act on it!

I would like feedback on some hands

Should I have raise preflop?
I should have bet the flop, but I wanted to try check raising since I was so out of position.
On the turn my hand became a lot weaker, most spades beats me now, and since there are a lot of players someone probably has one
So I donā€™t know if I should bet the turn and river

Feels like I should have won a much bigger pot

Donā€™t really know how to play this hand
I think itā€™s to weak for a 3bet but Iā€™m in a good position so I limp
Should I have called on the flop? Feels like I donā€™t have the odds
Should I have folded on the flop? My opponents range is better but itā€™s cheaper

Could I have done something here? A fold to the river shove feels too tight

I try limping since there are almost no 3bets on this table, was the bluff good? was the fold good?
