Poker's Magic Ingredient

So true - things can turn around quickly in a tournament. One or two good shoves and suddenly you are back in the game. A chip and a chair  stay positive indeed!

My ring strategy is to sit with about 1/3-1/2 the max buy in and bank when I reach 4x my buy-in. Starting below the max allows me to make stress-free marginal decisions, and exploit players who get pot stuck with more chips than me because they’re priced in when I shove. Totally agree - bankroll management brings a sense of calm at the tables that I find really important to play my best.

Yeah patience is very very important as already mentioned but in the end I think this is just one of many factors. In my very opinion i think the most important factor is discipline because without discipline nothing is working and we will lose money in spots that are uncommon. Discipline is
very important to make good folds and to control bankrollmanagement. I think it’s the most crucial ingredient in Poker.

Redboy I tend to be a very patient player, but poker is a game that likes to explore all the limits of our patience, I would say that poker is a real mental fire test, I tell you this because I have always been a very patient player. I adopted this style of play because the cards don’t usually come that often to me, not even connection with flops, they occur in very distant ways, so to be able to try to be profitable I was left with only this style of play, patience is a very important quality in poker, but poker is much more complex than that.

Hug.

Congratulations on reaching 1000 from 0, you are right, patience is very important in poker, knowing when to stop and stop playing, and lower your level.

First of all, thank you for doing this: it’s always interesting to read about the successes of other players, and you’re no exception. It’s cool to look up to the cool professionals, but seeing the successes of ordinary players like you is amazing! I remember your games, and I can say without exaggeration that you are an amazing player.

And secondly, you’ve touched on a really important point. Patience is something we all lack. Thanks to great communities like CardsChat and Replay.com - we can move forward in our poker journey with you and improve every day.

Speaking of myself, I’ve always enjoyed playing, but I’ve never reached $1,000. I think $800 was the most I had in my account, and I wanted to jump over that $1,000 barrier so badly that I lost control and lost everything. I even tried to transfer money to my friends’ poker accounts, knowing that I would lose everything. Now I’m starting my journey again. Let’s see what happens.

Thank you for sharing your story with us - this is a great and useful post.:+1::blush:
