Has anyone played MTT’s on other websites?
The reason I ask is because I decided to check out PokerStars (please don’t throw tomatoes lol), the .net free play and kind of felt like I got my but kicked (knocked out 63 of 777). I came back here and took 3rd place of somewhere around a field of 325).
I seriously enjoy Replay Poker so much more! but did feel Poker Stars did have something different to offer:
- I hardly ever got a good hand to play (which was good so I can learn how to deal with dry runs).
- No matter what someone always calls your raise / re-raise etc… (I found myself playing like a TAG), which I prefer the looser style (I had difficulty finding places to steal pots almost impossible).
- I also felt like I had to make moves to survive pushing my stack because the blinds never stopped it seemed like they were chasing me down relentlessly. (I really did not like this aspect!).
I may have to sneak away from time to time, to improve the aspects of my game I haven’t felt here but will always return because this is absolutely my favorite place to play (due in part to the amazing people here (like one big dysfunctional family :D, I love it!))
Are there any sites you know of that are more like the real thing (live poker aspects)?
And has anyone ever played the one I mentioned above? I thought it was crappy but I can still use the crappyness of it to improve my game (well once in a great while?..).

I have played on Poker Stars… didn’t like it… mainly because people don’t chat . Best site I ever played on was called inter poker , sadly it closed , then I moved on to Carbon Poker and many of the players from inter poker followed also a great site… then that one removed play money and so I ended up here and brought along a few friends. I like most people here so stay here but have been looking for another site also. If you find any interesting ones let me know.

I totally agree and also did not like Poker Stars… not one peep from anywhere which is so different than here.
My next step is really live poker (have to get my feet wet) but yes definitely if I do stumble across something cool I will post it here and I thank you for sharing (greatly appreciated!).

WSOP is so bad its almost good - like Sharknado. I take my inner maniac there for play dates on occasion.
PlayWPT is worse, unless you feel like learning how to curse in Cantonese
Can you play for cash/prizes where you are? If so, there are tons of places to try. If not, there are ways to get around many of them, as long as you aren’t playing for more than a few $hundred total bankroll. I’ve been trying betonline.ag. Its not a social thing but the poker is somewhat competitive, even at low stakes.
This is the best site by far that I’ve played on as a social poker site.
(RP - please deposit the usual 50K chips into my Cayman Island account at your earliest convenience - kidding!)

I am actually shocked that replay allowed this thread to remain. Kudos replay!! i also believe this is the best site. Ive played WSOP and its like a disney game, poker stars is a snooze fest. Extremely boring. While I have my issues with things on this site, they do put out a good product and deserve props for that. The people and simplicity are what makes this site the best in my opinion.

I can’t play for cash or prizes I believe thats only in NV or NJ (booo) and Im in CA but I sure do wish I could :P.
I’ll definitely give betonline.ag a shot. Thank You!
Im sure RP has that deposit ready for you (valuable member and all :))
@NotTheOne I think you hit the nail on the head when you said snooze fest lol, RP does get Kudos! and I believe Im a member for life (first poker site which is awesome!).

And you can play the clubWPT pay-site for cash/prizes (different than the worthless PlayWPT site)

I tried Americas Card Room, OMG what a joke its like an all-in free for all with any 2 cards every hand, I couldn’t believe it, no way I’ll try that one again, please avoid at all costs (maybe its just how the free rolls are but seriously crazy).
BOL so far so good haven’t made a final table yet but its promising.
Trying Global Poker right now so unsure???
Replay Poker is still topping the charts though and my absolute favorite.

Frustration on this site make us all a little crazy at times . Have felt like you do about thinking Replay just wanted me gone ( putting me on a losing streak for months ) . Now I just look for games with friends , who like to chat . Some of the players still annoy the hell out of me , but that just gives me a target…lol. Good luck on the tables.

Sorry to say but i find 80% of the people here are NOT friendly…most never say a word, which is why don’t play for long. The site i use to play at for about 8 years was the best ,everybody talked…good and bad lol, never dull played 4 6 hours a day.

Sammy,
Please know for sure Replay Poker wants you especially because you are reformed, have seen your mistakes, and it knows you will bring knowing positivity to the game and the site. The other part to this is WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES OF JUDGEMENT and Replay Poker knows this too. It not only gives a second chance, but also a third and fourth chance. They like all people and they want all people to like Replay Poker. So they will bend over backwards to try to please as many people as they can. In addition they are quick to act when they know they have acted wrongly. It is really that simple.

Agree with you there , which is why I play sit n go’s with friends. Talking to my self , although enjoyable, at times can get boring since I tend to repeat myself…lol
