Hi!
The best starting hands in Omaha Hi-Lo are **A-A-2-3 double-suited followed by A-A-2-4 double-suited. These are very strong because they can be played for both high and low, which gives them great scoop potential. Of course being suited or (even better) double-suited adds value to every hand.

All I know is that I would like more Omaha Hi/Lo games to choose from. That is by far my favorite poker game.

I like A,2,K,?

Ace suited (is preferred) and when the (?) is not a 7, 8, or a 9 except I would have to think about calling an all-in. But, the key is when you get these hands before the flop is to Raise preflop. Otherwise, I just call to minor preflop raises and fold to large preflop raises.

Btw, being dealt a SET preflop is usually a fold unless in the BB.

If I had to choose my favourite Hi/Lo starting hand it would be AKspadesA2hearts, thus giving good chances of nut flush, straight, best possible low, possible FH with the aces, and If you are very lucky, 4 aces!.

My favorite would be

A-A-2-3 Double-suited

I avoid any hi-lo game like the plague. I donā€™t like any game rewarding a bad hand.

Thatā€™s like you saying ā€œ I bluffed and won the pot with a crappy hand with nothing but Iā€™m happy I wonā€. A win is a win, no ?

I love Hi/Lo but,I hate to have to split a pot with anyone!

I think Omaha Hi/Lo is actually one of the best strategy poker games around. But, after making such a statement, one has to realize Iā€™ve always considered myself an Omaha Hi/Lo (especially PL) savant when playing the game.

A-2-3 suited in this game or rolled up (starting with a set). it is my best n favorite game but VERY hard to find online for cash and casinoā€™s now:(.

Regarding 7 card stud hi-lo only: Take away all the listed best hand openers for a moment. What would anyone consider opening without the ā€˜best handsā€™ or fold each time? For example 2,3 and a Jack. This would assume you werenā€™t subject to a ā€˜bring inā€™.

FOLD

I like starting with A-2-3 suited or rolled up ( a set )

You like being dealt a Set in Hi/Lo??

Okay, thanks for the replies I get folding but to me a ā€˜setā€™ would mean 3 of a kind which again to me should be included with the ā€˜standardā€™ openers like hi-lo runs, high pairs, sets, etc. I donā€™t know whether or not to play something trashy but could possibly turn into a high, a low or a scoop. So, I guess Iā€™ll keep folding.
