Ok this is a dumb question but i cannot figure out how to join a 2nd table in multi table tournaments.

You cant play on more than one table in the same tournament. Multi table tourneys start with more than one table and allow more players to compete and for bigger pay-outs. As players get eliminated the number of tables is reduced and players are shifted until only one table (known as the final table) is left.
