MTT Summary #1

Gonna post a few of these for posterity and for my own personal accountability  I think I still make too many mistakes in almost every MTT I play. This should help me identify leaks, and knowing I’m going to record every hand should also keep me disciplined (no more crappy limps with Ts8s because no one is watching).

Here’s 250k that just ended (well, for me anyway):

As always, any feedback, comments, criticism is welcomed and encouraged!

I’ll start. I don’t like my play in the first hand (KQo) at all.

I chickened out on the flop; a cbet likely would have won right there. When he minbets the K, I should raise all day. He’s repping the same hand at best; we should attack this weak bet/range. On the river, when he checks, I should bet a large size. His range is now fairly capped and regardless of the brick river, he might fold hands like weaker Kx if I bet. Turns out it likely wouldn’t have worked, but you never know.

Recording every hand N1 think I may do the same but I know exactly how you feel in the last 3 days I have been extremely lucky to get any other card between 2 and 9 don’t get me wrong it does give a couple but that’s only when the flop has gone low for 1ce lol and quads hitting the table has gone wild suited well its a case of whatever you got that suit don’t hit 1 card I am told its Algorithms or something I don’t know whatever it is when will it stop giving me same numbered cards ie 4 out of 5 hands 89u? how is this possible aces losing out to 2’s especially when flop and turn are mid to high cards then the river like in your case a 2 unreal upon checking their licence I see the governing body states all cards are shuffled etc and that each hand is a unrepeatable hand that may be when dealing a full half table taking into account that you are using half the cards every hand almost but what about the players themselves getting dealt the same cards that has to be an exorbitant amount of players getting the same and what are the odds that your hand of 89 loses every time then the next player who gets 89 wins mega chips 5 hands I don’t 1 hand they do is that Replays way of telling us something? Good for you numbers are not my forte but will keep watching this space N1 for sharing it with us but not so nice that it went up in flames

Yeah this was a pretty standard MTT for me. Sometimes you just don’t get many playable hands before your stack starts to dwindle, the blinds go up, and you have no choice but to shove with a good but not premium hand and hope for the best.

Such is the tournament life

Dang, I think I butchered the second hand also! Why am I shoving AdQh as a cbet on Ah Th 8h? What am I trying to get called by? Of course it’s fairly likely that Villain was simply not ever going to continue on this flop, but I left a lot of value on the table against weaker aces and hands like Kh/x and Jh/x, straight draws, etc.

I think checking this flop might even be better than open shoving! Villain might try to bluff, or bet a weaker made hand. And we’re fairly well protected here on a lot of runouts as we have a good flush draw and straight outs of our own.

By open shoving, I may have just forced my opponent to play correctly, folding all worse hands and, of course, calling with better
