I read up on the Stake and RPP levels. Although it isn’t made clear regarding RPP levels, it seems that both have an all too easily achievable ceiling. Maybe this could be revised.
I’ve been rated a High Stakes player and an RPP 50 champion for ages. I have 52M in my bankroll at the writing, but there is a player in my friend list with a couple billion, and a few more with hundreds of millions. Clearly, we are not at the same level.
High Stakes players start at the 250,000 chip plateau. I understand that you want to make levels achievable for new players, but perhaps adding a few more would give experienced players further incentive.
Maybe subdivide the High Stakes category into the following:
Expert High Stakes for 1M-9M
Prolific High Stakes for 10M-99M
Elite High Stakes for 100M-999M
Ultra High Stakes for >1B.
It should not be called Stakes if it’s bankroll related.
If I have billions of chips but only play freerolls (since I won them), then maybe I am not (or no longer) a high stakes player.
Conversely if i am always broke but only play 1 million buy in, then maybe I am a high stakes player.
I completely agree, but you’d have to win an incredible amount of freerolls to accumulate a billion chips. There is something to be said for that. I don’t know what it is, but it can be said.
Well, imagine if someone played high stakes for a while, built a bankroll, But from then on you only see them in freerolls or 10-50k buy-ins. Do you consider them high rollers?
A suggestion may be for players to maintain their high stakes status by playing x number of high stakes games a month?
Okay, sure. I’d back that, but still, my point is that a player with 50M in chips shouldn’t be placed on the same level as someone with 500M-2B.
Also, since you can buy your way to a billion chips or more, maybe the tournament points system needs to be updated, explained, and employed to determine a player’s skill level.
