Learning how to deal is very rewarding!

The first thing which attracted me to poker is the “casino aesthetic”: the green tables, the sound and the looks of cards and chips, the precise gestures of the dealer… always fascinated me even if I’m not actually into gambling (I despise sports betting, never used a slot machine, went to casino a single time and I bet just €20 but spent most time looking around). For this reason I always wanted to learn dealing poker but for one reason or another I never did.

Lately I found a great YT channel on the subject and since board gaming and poker are having a long awaited resurgence in my area I have a good “excuse” to put in the time to learn that skill and practice, this summer I expect to organize a good number of live poker games with friends and I want to surprise them by offering them a “casino-like” experience so this week I started to watch the first videos and to practice by myself and I have to say that’s very rewarding. I put some music start shuffling/dealing hands and one hand leads to another in a nice loop, usually when I feel mentally drained I use to scroll Reddit or Instagram but in the last days when I could I resorted to my deck of cards rather than the phone. I’m not sure how long this “magic” will last, sooner or later my skill is going to plateau and at that point training dealing cards is not going to be that rewarding but at that point I have reached my goal (being able to offer a “casino-like” experience to my poker/gaming buddies) and I can always carry on by learning cards/chips tricks…

Sure! One of the best things about poker is its depth, I’ll likely keep learning about this game forever
