Is this bizarre?

Something very bizarre is happening . I’ve been playing at this site for years, but in the last 6 or 7 months, I started realizing that I was getting dealt a 2 or 3 in every hand or every other hand. I got so freaked out about it that I started keeping track. Sure enough, my tally’s show that I do indeed receive an inordinate amount of 2’s and 3’s in the hands that are dealt out. Sometimes, 9-10 times in a row! Does this happen to anyone else? I can see this happening every once in a while, but every game? Am I going nuts?

Interesting problem. Long ago, a teacher told me that If an infinite number of monkeys played with an infinite number of typewriters, one of them would eventually repeat all of Shakespeare’s plays. But, in this case, I would ask Support to look into it. There’s only one of you, after all. Good luck.

There have been times that I have had 9 / 2 11 times in a row. One evening I KNEW it had to be a glitch because it was 9H 2C 4 times in a row. It may be random, but it sure didn’t seem that way.

Not bizarre at all. I too have tracked my hands and, most recently, I went 16 hands in a row with a card higher than an 8 dealt to me. Additionally, I played a total of 32 hands with my opponent winning on the river 11 times. Guess it sucked to be me in those instances

Glad you wrote about this incidents. Have exactly the same problem for quit a while now (more than 2 years)
constantly especially on opening table first few hands a 2 is shown, repeating same constantly in other combi, many times per ringgame or tournament… 70 to 80 times no exeption!, when other nr appears its very often 3 combi.
It really makes, you dont wanna play at all anymore after while. completely useless and allmost impossible to win against other players who many times hve multiple hands winning in a row. I also noticed when it comes to tournaments the finalist(s) are most of the time U.S.players. Is that coinsedence or maybe determened by replay since an american website, or just because the majority of players per table is mostly U.S. based. Often playing table with 8 opponents being all US per table! Suppose comment will be US players are simply better players when it comes to poker… so be it!
Anyhow my first concern is how to get rid of this redicculus Algorythm what I suppose, is the reason for first mentioned problem. Just replying yr msg to let you know youre absolutely not alone in this extreme case.
And Indeed, the longer it takes, the more crazy and angry you get playing here! bi and gl all++

Hi folks,
I know that if I believed that this site was rigged, biased, or unfair in any way, I would not play here…

Pretty sure Replay is UK, not US based.

Also, sorry to be skeptical, but when you’re claiming something has been happening for longer than you’ve been on the site, it seems reasonable to conclude you might be exaggerating things at least a little.

Thanks yr quick reply and sorry for mixing up UK/US, my mistake. I’ve been with replay quit some time now, but formerly under other account.
With regard to my reply on poker discussion, just want to say: the problem as mentioned by member is exactly as what i experience when on the tables
and is not exaggerated at all. It is really annoing and spoiling the fun in playing for me ever since.
Will keep on playing and can only hope things to change in future games and algorithm adjusting.
Not blaming yr site or anybody, just letting you know these things happen. (not only to me it seems)
tks again for yr attention on the matter… good luck and a nice day… from Rotterdam. :smirk:

Everyone has times where they just keep getting dealt bad cards. You get runs of good hands too, but as there are less good hands than bad, a run of bad cards is going to be much longer on average. That can be consecutive hands, or a sequence of starting hands - from a statistics point of view it makes no difference.
There will be people who get very unlucky with the cards they are dealt, at least for a time. Unless you actually recorded all the hands you were dealt, no-one can say if that’s you or not.
If you have that data, it would be possible to put a number to how unlucky you’d been, which to me is more interesting than anecdotes, but I bet some people enjoy hearing those, so don’t let me stop you sharing.
There really is no algorithm to adjust though. Poker is just a terrible game where no matter how skilled you are, you’re just going to be in positions where you simply cannot win quite often. No-one finds that fun, but battling through and losing the minimum can be rewarding.
Cheers

Negreanu says he lost 2.2 mil last year. If he can have a bad year why can’t any of us. He talks about repeatedly going in with the best hand and getting beat…

Excaliburns posted this over in Strategy:

I fully agree one gets a string of good and or bad hands and at times you begin to wonder of the veracity of the site…However, I have been all in and out of the last five or six tourneys I have played and in every instance I was dealt Premium cards, ie a pocket Pair or AK AQ. and in every instance I caught what I thought were the nuts only to lose to an opponent catching a one or tow outer on the river. Today as an example, I flopped a flush draw, not a lot of betting and only one opponent, I rivered the A for my flush and yes there was a pair on board, my opponent went all in I called. yep he had a small pocket pair caught his trips and had a boat…two hands later I started with a pocket pair, caught the trips on the flop, lost to AA when he rivered a third A…just coincidence I guess???

repeatedly going all in with the best hand… loosingNegreanu
