Is playing multiple tables being inconsiderate?

If I suspect someone is playing multiple tables (i.e. they keep running out the clock), I often put a min bet in, because that forces them to fold if they are not back in time, and if they do get back, they have one extra thing to think about - how much has been bet.

Personally, I prefer face-to-face games, which I play about twice a week and win real money every so often. Online poker is just to give me more practise. Since I’m a recreational player rather than trying to win a salary, I just have one table open at a time and often have youtube playing in the background.

I have no idea how you can competently play 10-20 tables, as the idea of a second table makes me think I’d just lose all the time with bad decisions. But that’s me!

I am 100% sure it is malicious in a couple of extreme cases. I’m sure most of you have come across them. EVERY SINGLE HAND, bet, check, or fold, they wait until the last possible SECOND. There is little doubt that they expend more thought in this facetious exercise than what it takes for anyone to make a decision regarding the play. They will tell you they do it “because I can”. Apparently, they aren’t getting attention at home.

Please report them

If it isn’t slowing down the table, I see no issue with it. But if the game is being affected then they should really sit out. As long as the rules are being followed not alot to complain about really.

Replay insists on allowing players to play more than one game at a time, slowing down every game they are in. Since they wont stop this practice, the least they can do is create an indicator to show who is engaged in multiple paly. That way, I and others can elect not to join a table where multi table players are present

There are many reasons to disallow multitabling! Primarily, it slows the rhythm of all tables concerned. It is also rude to all the players waiting to play. It’s absurd to me we even have to discuss it! It shouldn’t be allowed! Is this just another video game or is it poker?!

The way replay is set up it recreates the feel of a real money site.
On real money sites some clever folk are playing 10+ games at a time and winning.
I think people should continue to play as many games as they wish as long as they can handle it, I know I couldn’t but I don’t have a problem with those who can.

there are limited numbers of tables.
some players - I can name them - play on 6 - 8 tables simultanously.

so, other players have no chance to get a seat or must wait for a long time.

If you are not able to make an update in the SW, you can limit it to 2 tables max instead of unlimited. That could help a lot…

leave it as it is…we all have a clock and if they go over the clock they are out until the next hand. There are plenty of other tables to play if you can’t get on the one you first choose.I play 2 sometimes but find it a bit stressful for myself but if others can do it thats great!

I am just going to keep it simple. While I do see the need, esp if you play in leagues, to be playing 2 games at once. I do not believe this should be the normal. It really is annoying waiting for a player who is on mulitple tables to finally place his bet or fold. I do think the thing to remember is Replay gives them only so much time. It is needed to have that time to think about your bet or even just deal with your cat in your face when you are trying to play. Life happens. You never know. When I get annoyed I tell myself if they time out so what. I will wait my turn but I do feel your pain.

I will play two or three tables, but usually just one. If someone is slow, it doesn’t bother me at all.

yeah, with the critical difference that we get NO TIME BANK to make big decisions
i.e., players already have a pretty strict clock on every decision. anyone whining about multi-tabling doesn’t know what real poker looks like, or is just being selfish. boo hoo, you sometimes have to wait 12 seconds.

in a real money online game, sometimes you will have to wait over a minute for a decision. in a live game, sometimes it will be several minutes.

Replay already provides an environment in which players can see thousands of hands every day. I agree with you @swamptrash - if people want to multi-table, more power to them.

Hi Younguru, thank you for your response. I have played many real cash games and I can tell you for sure, Replay is way different.

Although the community is very transparent, robust, even, there are real money players on this site and we know who they are.

I think multi tabling is normal, and I actually expect it from the best of the best players.

Good luck to you all, keep improving your game!

I do and have played many money games won some lost some. But I will agree with you. Playing live games is NOT the same as playing on Replay. But we have to remember that online it is computer generated hands. It is what it is.
I personally don’t play multiple games bc I want to focus on doing my best in every game. I know that is easier said than done but this is what works for me. If others derive happiness and have the skill to do it then more power to ya.
I love playing on Replay. I enjoy the community and of course playing cards is my thing.

Years back I noticed when in a long tourney I would be in a fair portion of the hands… Which usually is not keeping the odds in a players favor. I started playing a freeroll or small game to the side and would fold a good portion of the hands in the Larger main game. It is a system that seems to help My so-so Poker game and I still use it now and then…
