I think one of the best things about this site is the fact that we have player in here from all over the world. I have many friends on my list from many many countries which I really enjoy. I was wondering last night how many players we have in here from different countries. I would guess that the US and the U.K. and Germany and maybe Australia and South Africa would have the most members , but I could be wrong. Is there a count on members in here from each country? It would be quite interesting to know and maybe make for a good discussion.
It would indeed be interesting to know the number of people per country, and of this number to see the percentage compared to the total number of inhabitants of the country. Looking only at the number without the percentage seems less relevant in my opinion, because a lesser known country can have a higher percentage while having fewer people in total like a country like the United States for example.
I forgot to add Germany to that list. Lots of good players.
Actually I meant France
The US seems to be #1, not surprisingly, but I think France, Spain and Germany are the next three. Pretty good rep from Aus too.
UK, Mexico, Brazil, Austria, Argentina, South Africa and Canada pop up fairly often. There are a couple of Peruvian regulars. Surprised that there aren’t more Russians. Used to be tons of them years ago on PS.
Always cool when a rare one sits at your table, like Guatemala or Sri Lanka or something. Make poker, not war. Unite the world with cards. ; )
And New Zealand
Saw a player from Antigua last night. If I lived there I doubt I would be playing poker LOL. Beautiful place.
I remember reading a post a couple of years ago that Replay is blocked from certain countries and Russia was one of them. It could be one reason, also there was another post, again a couple of years ago where the player used a VPN to bypass the restriction.
A lot of Russians probably don’t know how to use a VPN
I’ve noticed the Aussies and Canadians are really aggressive players. I figure it’s because of their weather being so hot and cold, respectively.
I really enjoy playing against players from other countries, which is probably one of the reasons I’ve stayed around. Observing and learning the different playing styles has helped me with mine.
That is exactly why I stick around. I like meeting people from all over the world since we don’t travel too much anymore.
