How do you? When you have had a successful month and all of a sudden everything goes against you, the luck is gone, self-confidence collapses, you wonder what you are doing wrong! Do you stop playing or do you continue? You do not want to stop playing because you love the game! How are your experiences?
I take a break, watch the replays and learn from my mistakes. I have come to the conclusion over the years that when in a downswing I try and bite off more than I can chew and try to remember and stay in the zone that half a loaf of bread is better than none my friend
You’ll get there. Patience!
You just have to remember that this happens to everyone that plays a lot. Top pros go thru this as well, so take a break for awhile, or just keep playing and work thru it, but play smart poker and not let your emotions take over and cause you to make plays you know you shouldn’t be making. If you continue to play soundly, it’ll get better in the long run.
Thank you!! Have a good day! I will try that
Thank you!!!
I will play a few freerolls, just til my mojo comes back!
you are so right!!!
I dont now why but i am back!!
Are you asking me if you get as high as 6.3 M, down to a lousy 650k in a matter of a few days? And YOUR rating falls from around 4500 to 11970, and you become the “idiot” of
every table, to where they mock you? As if somebody turned off the lights on your luck,
and no project works? Or are you telling me about when newcomers, who just joined the site
with 2500 points beat everyone at the table, 82 hands in a row?
I don’t have the answer for such questions, but I realized that NOT playing when they’re having a “sale” on chips is a wise decision.
I have worked hard to become a decent poker player, read books, played, seen how others do, what I do not understand is that one day you are a king and the next day you are a fool, I know you are just a human being, but if it’s the luck it depends on, how can it be so different! I think it’s about yourself! you have to believe in dian cards and yourself and be concentrated, you get lucky if you play well and feel good and are concentrated, but you love the game, of course you want to play every day, maybe you get a royal flush, maybe you are the king on the table!! The stupid thing many times is that you think you are better than you are, the pride !! I really just want to play, have no dreams of being number 1, just a desire to be a good poker player !!
Welcome to the club…I was in the same position as you but this time i caught a few players who are using scanners or bot apps. Quite sure this has happened to you. Besides I dont believe when this or any other site says that the cards are randomly dealt at the time issued. I think the cards are pre dealt to that particular seat not to the player. For example…i categorized the cards i was dealt for about 45 minutes. Got the three worst card in hi/lo omaha…8,9, or 2 over 80% of the time. Got the ace the least. I had a 2 dealt for a solid 9 hands. The odds are in the millions for that. So you are not a bad player and your luck didnt take a turn drastically…there are other people who manipulate the board or the site!
Anyone who thinks internet poker is a skill …well let’s just say luck is the main part of winning.
I just fold more and keep telling myself don’t chase don’t chase
I respectfully disagree . If you look at the leader boards I think you will see the same people at the top ttime and again. Yes there is luck , but there is luck at home games playing for money as well or at a casino. If what your saying is true I guess the same people that dominate the leader boards time and time again are just lucky people??
Yes- to be near the top of the leaderboards does take a lot of games-hands and large portion of folding with two dashs of luck.
I went back to the top and read the beginning of this chat. I have noticed that I can win 5 out of 6 games and the next day cant win at all. But I have also noticed that when I am winning I am much more aggressive with my bets and with my bluffs. Ive noticed also that when I start loosing a few games I start playing beat. Meaning when I have a good hand I under bet it before the flop and someone with 68 off suit stays in flops a 6 and my and my AQ or AK is beat.
I think this is a fundamental aspect of poker. You will run cold some of the time, and during those stretches it is easy to eventually lose confidence and patience, which will then exacerbate the slide. I’ve done the following many times over the years:
- take a break from playing
- drop down and play at a lower level to get used to winning again and rebuild confidence
- read books or study in other ways and use this as a chance to try and modify your game for the better
doesn’t matter what I do. can set out not play till I’m blue in face. I am always on a bad streak
Luv this response!! I tell myself the same thing … but what do I do … CHASE (in certain situations) and hate myself for not being disciplined.
Chasing + Luck + Position + Flop = skill
or
Chasing + Position + Skill + Flop = luck
what do you think?
