Funny Poker Hand

Not sure this is funny but its been typical for me as of late so enjoy it

I am running colder than a snowman’s jockstrap lately here. Won 3 of 5 SnG’s I played elsewhere earlier and then come here and can’t find my way to anything close. Oh well. There’s always tomorrow - and if that fails, I guess I can take up drinking.

BTW - didn’t love calling the all-in but the guy who shoved was 100% on an A so I knew I was ahead of him there. Thought maybe he had a decent diamond to go with it but cant’ drop top 2 there I don’t think. Not much I can do about the flopped set from the BB. Sigh.

Wow thats brutal you had a sleeper agent just waiting for you to bet lol, sv12345 messed it all up, you may have been able to get away but he forced you into the sleeper. I thought svg12345 was on a flush draw with that large of a bet (but just a semi bluff, moron lol).

This one made me laugh just because there’s no way I should have won (its a final table):

I have 5/6o I checked because he was an aggressive player and thought he would bet for me, then on the turn I see another spade and I was like WFT I know (or feel like) he has a spade, so I thought what the hell I’ll take 3rd place its was a good run… then on the river he was bamboozled (and I utterly surprised) and he was so mad… he typed something like dude there’s no way, so lucky. I said sorry man being just as shocked and said GG.

This was a great tournament (of course low stakes, (I have a small bankroll)) but I dominated this one from start to finish. Half way through I faced a re-raise and I was definitely bullying the table and lost my mind for a split second I had 66 and he had 99 after he raised me I shoved (as soon as I hit the button I was like Doh… that was dumb lol), the cards are shown and I just lost 3/4’s of my stack (but had enough to bounce back and keep bullying (is bullying the right term? being loose aggressive (once in a while, not often being tight aggressive and slow playing))) all the way to the final table. I wish live play worked as well as this one (one of my favorites thus far played on Sunday).

Long story short, I did feel kind of bad (but not for very long) and was happy to take the crown.

I think you defiantly played it the right way (and could have gotten payed off), who knew there was a sleeper lurking in the dark what are the odds??

Great hand! pretty big thrill

What an insane call! 4 outs one time for most of your stack late in the game. I’m laying that one down there but I likely would have bet the flop so there’s that. Goofy game we play. Congrats for taking the top spot. Just like in golf, there are no pictures on the scorecards for how you got there.

The hand I played is a case study in why multi-player pots just aren’t what you want to be involved in most of the time. I 3-bet pre-flop and still had 3 flat-callers. No idea what initial guy mucked after the all-in fest but that hand likely should have played out with me and the 10’s seeing a flop. Someone was getting damaged there but probably not all-in because of the draw heavy board and both of us had tons of showdown value. Who knows? A wise man once said its a “goofy game we play” :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Final table in a 15K sat - thought I played it perfectly, getting some extra money in the pot rather than shoving. I hoped the big stack would shove to all-in so I’d be 1 on 1 with a monster and a bigger pot. He was raising very wide, as he should have been with that stack. Well, all was going well until the turn card killed my master plan. Savor my pain

In all honesty, its easy to take a beat like this when the play all around was solid. Sure as heck beats limping it in and getting whooped by a ragged 2-pair. If you can look back at a hand and are happy with the way you played it, then the results of that one hand are secondary, at least to me.

lol curious…

At first I was thinking brutal… Then I seen the comment at the bottom “son of a” hahahaha it just made me laugh.

You should feel good, you got it all in with the best hand (and know that these things happen, sometime more than we like) but hands like that, if a Q didn’t turn pushes you that much higher over the others.

The comment still cracks me up lol

I moved it to the thread on bet-sizing. Thought it would be better there but only after I posted it and didn’t want to have 2 identical posts up.

Sorry it wasn’t anything outrageous but I’m working on some new material so maybe later? :smiling_imp:

LOL - I didn’t think about the comments I make.

If you look at the next hand though, after I was out, this is what showed up in the comment box:

Dealer: ** Hand [ 312817486 ] started **
1Warlock: gg
Los28: gg
Jack7Jack: gg
Dealer: Dealt to board [ 5s 9s Td ]
1Warlock: was hoping for the reraise too. it happens. good play and gl
Dealer: Jack7Jack mucks

I try to inject some humor into the game when I can. You cant get mad at good play. On the other hand, I have been a whole bunch less than kind to the donks on occasion. Heck, if a fool isn’t told he’s a fool, how is he ever going to find out? I’m doing a public service by letting them know. :slightly_smiling_face:

OK, I am officially going to avoid playing at your table if I can. You are a magnet for weird and improbable. Might want to see someone about that, like an exorcist

I will do the same just because I wouldn’t want to lose my arse…

This one happened the other day, I had poc. KK made a small raise bf. flop came out K85 . AF I made a large raise. I like to play around with the mouse, making figure 8s. well I pushed the" FOLD ANY TIME" button. Then the time clock ran out, so I folded and lost the hand. The lesson there is don’t play around when you want to win.

Any body else push the fold any time button!
I love this game.

Yes, I have done that. Bummer! But today, right at the moment I was going to clean up on a full house Aces full of 10s, my Shock app crashed. I could see it, I could taste it, I could almost smell it…but I had to reboot the whole game. Still finished 6th.

Ouch! I’ve also made the mistake of dragging the bet counter to put myself all-in when playing with the mouse. Not a good feeling when you’ve got nothing!

I’ve also accidentally clicked the fold button but am also so glad its there  would hate to have to check through a hand I don’t want to be in.

Figured I would play a quick one today not really into it and wound up with a really nice first pot:

Then it became a shove fest and I was out before the blink of an eye… I almost never play this way but ehhh fell off my rocker today lol

I wanted to say the fold to any bet button. I could see its uses…
