Personally (I play almost all 50k and down MTT) I would change this part.
At 50k and down there are just too many players who hate folding to 3-bet wide. You will just bloat the pot with a speculative or 2nd best hand. I know this because a few months back I was trying to add 3-bets to my repertoire and it was just a disaster. The vast majority of my 3-bets pre are for isolation against small stack jams and most of those are in icm/final tables.
I also don’t have the post flop skills that younguru has so personally it’s better to stay tighter. I have noticed that over the months playing here that the better I get, the wider I can play. Back in November/December I was not confident playing as low as J9 or J8 even from late position. Now I have more post flop skill and confidence and actually get excited to see J8 or even J7s in my hand on the CO or BT. My bet sizing is better, my reads are better and I understand the advantages and disadvantages that my aggression might give me and how Villains will react to it.
Exactly. Whenever someone complains in chat about too much raising or aggression (whether that aggression is mine or someone else’s) I immediately open up the notes field on them. ; )
And when I felt the maniac I will often post in the chat “that’s that then,” or “(dusts hands),” and sometimes I get applause for it, but no one ever gets upset.
