With the Mystics winning May, now and, finally all Teams have won at least one month. Well done. I hope that all Teams will consistently have enough Players playing to be competitive in June and beyond.
These are the final standings for Season 7 of Jenny and Phil’s Dynamic Duos, there will something more official looking later.
Congratulations to the Nomads who won this Season, well done to the Team(s) that improved their position through today’s efforts. Dan will soon announce when Season 8 begins.
Congratulations to Bill, Roy and Ann for finishing in the Top 3 in today’s exciting Mr Monk’s Challenge, it’s been another lovely game and we appreciated seeing each and every one of you!
Apologies to the Nomads, it took a while for the ‘engraver’ to sober up. Typos on a Trophy are a real bummer, we want to avoid that.
Congratulations to the Mentors who won today’s battle in the first instalment of play with three Teams [this year] in Jenny and Phil’s Lightning Pairs. We thank all who played today and are looking forward to tomorrow when hopefully all four tables will be full.
Jenny’s 1 on 1 ~ Lightning Style
Tomorrow [Saturday] at 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm Eastern in FPL 4, there will each be a set containing 12 games which is good for up to 24 Players to hash it out and see who is better at that moment. We don’t expect that many to play, but it is better to have something and not need it, as opposed to needing something and not having it. These games are designed to finish in around 25 minutes or less. Only members of Lightning Pairs can play in anything that is hosted by FPL 4. Registration opens at 7:05 pm Eastern tonight.
Two Players that wish to play each other in both sets will be going for three points if one player can win both games. Otherwise it’s one point for each win. After the games on June 21st are completed and thereby establishing the top four Players, they will take part in the Playoffs on Saturday June 28th. There will be a decent amount of add on chips for all four Players.
This Heads Up competition is a stepping stone to July when the Team Play version of Jenny’s 1 on 1 will begin. June’s games will also tell us if any fine tuning is required for the games and how many of them we will need in July.
At some point within the next two weeks Dan will lay out the fine print of how this new Team Play venture will operate… there are still a few items that need to be ironed out.
Congratulations again to the Mentors who are today’s Lightning Pairs ™ winners, they continue to maintain their lead in the monthly leaderboard. As always, thanks to each and every one of you who played today; we’re looking forward to next week where the race to the top is bound to heat up!
Congratulations to Doon101, mimi65 and Maweilen for taking today’s top 3 spots in the Mr. Monk’s Challenge ©. Today’s Game was very exciting as we got a new player joining us (Tretorn AKA Andy), as well as a phoenix-like resurrection by a very stubborn individual who ended up winning the game. we hope to see you all again in the next episode.
There were two issues in today’s Lightning Pairs’ games that have resulted in points being deducted and not awarded.
The Munchers were assessed a two point penalty for a Player not wearing the proper Jersey, within the first 15 minutes of the game, which was reflected in the manual Leaderboard that I posted.
What was not properly reflected were the points that I counted, incorrectly, for the Mystics and the Mentors that were earned in the Bye Game. I later found out, after the fact, that a Mystic attempted registering too late to table 4. And after table 4 was cancelled… two Mystics were able to get a Mentor to join them in the Bye Game.
The Bye Game can only be used when all four tables are full and there are between 3 and 6 Players still wanting to play, or that one of the four regular games were somehow messed up by Replay.
The Mystics will get one point for a Player being cancelled in game 4, and no points will be awarded to any of the Players in the Bye Game. We apologize to the three Players that were in the Bye Game for this outcome.
We ask that all Players please register no less than 5 minutes before the start time of any and all games, in order to be safe and accepted by Replay which, as we all well know… can be very fickle at times.
Congratulations to the Mentors for winning today’s LP Games, They’ve managed to build up a healthy lead in the MTD standings.
Congratulations to Badr, Andre and Maja who finished as the top three in today’s scuffle within the Mr. Monk’s Challenge. It needs to be noted that Badr started playing in MMC just five weeks ago and today was his first win and impressive finish. So, Badr ~ please continue to make winning difficult for the rest of us. Just sayin…
Another good battle in Mr. Monk’s Challenge today with some Replay luck kicking in. Congratulations to the podium finishers, FranklyI, Pokerchips63 and mimi65. Thank you all for your participation.
I, at this time, would like to apologize to everyone for making an incorrect statement following last Thursday’s game which was, “The Bye Game can only be used when all 4 tables are full and there are between 3 and 6 Players still wanting to play,…”.
All four tables do not need to be full per say, if 2 Teams already have 8 Players lined up to play and have additional Players wanting to play, then in this case 2 Players from each Team can play in the Bye Game. The Bye Game will run with 3 Players registered. Points earned in the Bye Game will count and no points will be awarded to anyone if the Bye Game is cancelled.
A while back there was some math posted to help a Team that was short of Players, so that points could be maximized.
With four full tables, the most points that a Team can earn is 44 and the least is 12. If a Team can muster up only 4 Players, then there are 3 combinations as to how they can register which are … (a) 2 Players at 2 tables, (b) 2 Players at 1 table along with 1 Player at 2 tables and (c) 1 Player at 4 tables. The maximum earned points for each of the 3 above are as follows … (a) = 22 points … (b) = 23 points … (c) = 24 points.
