Remember elephant jokes? The object was to be totally ridiculous. For example, the first one I ever heard: How can you tell if an elephant has been in your refrigerator? Answer: Footprints in the jello.
A couple more: What did Tarzan say when he saw the elephants coming over the hill? Answer: Here comes the elephants. What did Tarzan say when he saw the elephants coming over the hill wearing sunglasses? Answer: He didn’t say anything because he didn’t recognize them.
Question: How do you kill a blue elephant?
Answer: You shoot him with a blue elephant gun.
Question: How do you kill a red elephant?
Answer: Shoot him with a red elephant gun?
Question: Don’t be ridiculous, there’s no such thing as a red elephant gun.
Answer: OK, then how DO you kill a red elephant?
Question: Simple, you hold his nose until he turns blue, then shoot him with a blue elephant gun.

Where were you this day? I was in school when it came across the loud speakers.
We all just sat there watching our teacher try to come up with comforting words to tell us.
The shock and the tears we shared were unreal .Even at a younger age, we loved this
guy and his wife. A very tragic day we will all never forget!!
And I have a scar on my tongue because of it.

We have lived thru many momentous events, this was surely one of the most tragic ( most tragic of course was 911).
Some other events not so tragic: Alaska and Hawaii becoming the 49th and 50th states of the USA; the creation of zip codes; the creation of the Super Bowl; a president actually resigning his job; landing on the moon; the first African American president; the creation of cable TV; the creation of the internet.
Probably many more that I left out that others can supply.
