Yes but not in excess. Remember that 2 to 3 beers is generally safe, as it is low to moderate risk on your health. I would not go as far as to drink 5 or more beers in one day.
Kicking back with a couple of beers is great way to enjoy the poker experience.
I only drink on odd and even days while playing poker, anything else would be borderline alcoholic, folks would probably say to me why do you drive on the sidewalk or where are your pants if I drank any of the other days.
