This contest will be wrapping up later today, so get any final comments in now! :slight_smile:

THE RESULTS ARE IN! :mega:

We had fewer responses this time, but the content was as entertaining as ever! With 52 unique entries (excluding staff’s :wink: ), here’s how things turned out!

C-3PO - 5 votes
Bender - 13 votes
Data - 22 votes
Robocop - 12 votes

(I counted @whoeverit’s post as a Bender win, if he took home the pot. :wink: )

Most player’s think that Data’s logic will prevail against C-3PO’s protocol and anxiety, Bender’s hot-headedness, and Robocop’s honesty.

Seeing everyone’s justifications and lively scenarios was hilarious, as were the impassioned defenses of your favorite characters! I think we’ll need a Championship round after doing a few more of these to see where @Maya stands and what @1Warlock’s odds breakdown will be. :slight_smile:

It’s time for our winners! :moneybag: Using random.org and a trusty spreadsheet, I drew the following names, and each have received 100,000 chips:

@waltzingmati
@Knighttemp
@bayta
@avia_trix
@jbyrd42

Congratulations to our winners, and thanks to everyone who participated! We’ll have another round soon, so prepare yourself for some “Femme Fatales” … :lipstick:

While I did not get in on the voting part of this contest, I can’t believe anyone would vote for someone other than Bender. Explanation:
IF we all agree that bluffing (lying) is an integral part of good poker play, then I suggest that Bender is the only one capable of that part (okay, maybe Robocop, but he doesn’t have the natural computing skills of the other three and is therefore subject to bad decision making according to odds and therefore finishes last among the four) of the game. Both Data and C3PO are incapable of telling a lie (bluff). Also, since they are all “programmed reactions”, they cannot detect a lie (bluff) and will succumb to it every time.

@DancingHomer Even though it is wrong to assume that bluffing (lying) is the only skill needed to win a poker game, let’s just assume that it is for argument’s sake: you may be right about C3PO not being able to tell that someone is bluffing, but think again about Robocop and Data. They are both able to tell a bluff and a lie by nature. Bender may be a bluffer, but he won’t get his lies past these two no matter how hard he tries :wink:

My suggestion was merely that the three fully robotic players would all have the same “perfect poker” program. With all three of them being of equal “strength of play”, my assertion is that only Bender would be capable of the “dishonest” part of play (I realize “dishonest” may not be the best word, but when bluffing…you are telling a false story…essentially a lie. And remember, the better you tell that lie, the better it works).
