Bad luck comes in three types. The first is bad beats and suckouts. There is not much that one can do about these.
Today’s question is: if the poker gods said to you, “You must play today and you WILL run badly, but you get to choose to be card dead or to whiff the board,” which would you choose?
Card Dead ~ you know, you’re just dealt rubbish all day - nothing better than J6o. When you are connected it’s 65o, when you;re suited it’s 93s, when you get a broadway it’s K2o.
Chronic Whiff Syndrome ~ the other form of bad luck - your deals are fine, maybe even better than average, but the flops are just awful. You have AK and flop 789. You have JJ and flop AQA. You see monotone all day but never have a single card in suit.
Which do you choose? Do you play all day totally card dead or with a severe case of whiffosis?
