Joined the easter marathon omaha high low qualifier last night.
Literally every hand three or four people all in pre-flop. And this at the starting level blinds 20/40 with 5,000 stacks.
Waste of time. Bingo on steroids.

Trying to put some context to the situation. Realize that yesterday was the final day to win a Final Ticket. Normally it’s not a Bingo fest.
yeah those big promo tournaments are a drag. I have entered a few, most recently Bust The Staff, this time I tapped out quite early.
you can definitely still win—you just fold a ton in the early/mid stages—but it’s pretty boring.
Sounds like as you’ve increased your BR you aren’t (or no longer) into just having fun playing on a Free Chip Poker site. Everyone I guess has a different motivation. I’ve always enjoyed the RP Promotions since the beginning. They’re actually pretty creative in encouraging participation which I’ve always felt was the primary intentions. I think Fizzy has always done a good job in that effort.
Btw, I’m not criticizing your motivations to play.
oh they’re great tournaments! just not for me given my current motivations, 100%
it’s not so much that the chips aren’t worth my time, though. I still play 20k league tournaments semi-frequently. it’s more that those super-big fields involve so much unskilled play that I find the early stages tiresome.
Bingo Boy is a good opportunity to win big early. You just need to be patient and wait for the cards to come into your range.
I love this place, but the maniacs are multiplying. Yesterdays marathon- chip leader - approx. 59k and the average stack is 7k. He goes all in every single hand for over 30 minutes straight. How long are we supposed to fold and be patient? Everyone waited until they had a great starting hand, he won 98% of them. What are we supposed to do? We’d earned our way to step 2 of the marathon and he bought his way. I keep seeing to report them, but… I’m never one to tattle on people because it’s a game that you must be an adult to play, but if you can’t call a person a jerk without being reported, then you shouldn’t be able to ruin the entire site for hundreds of players
Maybe I am a bit slow but a company took over replay. They will be encouraging people to come and play here for a fun time, aimed at people who have never played poker before. Maybe as a way to encourage gambling.
Everyone knows how to play holdem.
If you have never played Omaha or Omaha Hilo, there’s a good chance they won’t have a clue what to do, so why not just go all in every hand the free rolls to qualify for the marathons cost no chips, just saying…
Well, it wasn’t the freeroll, it was week 2. Also, the guy had been playing on the site for 4 years
I was playing a week 2 Omaha hi/lo. had same problem. player kept going all in and winning. this player had a chip stack 40,000+ they busted out in 46th spot. so he just got his week 2 ticket back. I managed to finished 11th, getting a final ticket and won 53,291 chips
I’m glad that you got your Sunday ticket. None of us will know because he came to my table, maybe, 10 minutes in and then proceeded to go all in for the next 30. I did notice that he sat out for the last 45 minutes ,but of course his stack was high enough to give him the Sunday final ticket
I get what your saying, but there’s really nothing anyone can do. only thing you can do is be patient and get a good starting hand and hope your hand holds up and take their stack. it does suck when they do this. just got to ride it out.
its just not week 2 tournaments this happens in. its all over every tournament
I apologize, got the game wrong, still have to just suck it up though, the same conversations go on in real money sites as well, the implications are that it’s all fixed, personally I do not believe that, cards are just random, stuff just happens, number generators or a deck,
If you want real paranoia go to 2 +2 forum,
I totally get it. I don’t think it’s fixed. I love this site. We all waited for the best starting hand. AA23, AAKK, A234 etc. Waited forever, but he won most of them. We can’t wait forever because blinds will eat us alive. 8 people waited patiently, all but 1 lost to him. I understand that it’s hard to know what to do or how to handle it. Again, I do not think it’s fixed at all. I was just wondering what to do when you come across that person who enjoys ruining it for everyone else
Not sure to be honest, Just wait it out, that type of play is not for the final table, I’m drunk and waffling gl my pal
I’m a bigger fan of geese, they will protect you and are big and noisy, quack
But they suck at football and basketball lol
My advice is not to wait until you have premium hand. Especially in Omaha were equities always run close, be prepared to gamble with anything half decent. If you lose, you’re out without wasting a bunch of time slowly bleeding blinds. If you win twice, you end up with the chip lead.
Yep-you know my story my friend:)
If constantly going all-in dominates the tournament and makes one unbeatable, then just go all-in every hand yourself.
