I’m excited to announce that we have a new feature coming very soon – Progressive Bounty Tournaments (PKOs)!
If you’re not familiar with this type of tournament, they’re similar to regular bounty tournaments (such as Bust the Staff) in that you receive an award for knocking out other players.
In a PKO, however, your bounty is a higher percentage of the buy-in, and it builds up as you knock out others! That makes you a more valuable target to others. A designated percentage is credited to the winning player, but the rest is added to the bounty on their own head!
Here’s how it works in an example where the entry is 100,000 chips and the PKO bounty is set to 50/50:
- 5,000 chips are taken for the tournament fee, then 47,500 chips goes toward the player bounty, while the other 47,500 goes to the prize pool.
- When the first player is knocked out, the person who eliminates them receives 23,750 chips as a prize (awarded at the end of the tournament), and that player’s bounty increases by the other 23,750, making the new total amount 71,250 chips.
- If that player is knocked out, the new victor receives 35,625 chips (half the bounty) and their own bounty increases by the same amount, regardless of what it was before.
- At the end of the tournament, some players may have HUGE bounties on their heads, depending on how many knockouts they made!
We want to make sure everything runs smoothly, as well as get some specific feedback from players before launching it to everyone on the site. Our volunteers will first get a shot at trying them for a couple of days, then we want to open it up to testers in our beta league. (Some of you may already be in this league!)
Are you interested in becoming a tester? Can you provide us with specific suggestions and answer questions/surveys asking for targeted feedback (i.e. not just “I like it/don’t like it”)? If the answer is yes, drop your name below and we’ll get you added!
Participants will receive a designated amount of tickets that will work on these tournaments so you don’t have to test out of pocket - but you can keep the earnings as thanks for your time and effort.
We expect testing to begin in early January for our volunteers, with beta testing beginning shortly after.
