I usually just type in “Hi”, and wait for players to respond. If they do, I give them a badge for being a good sport. I’m in California, had a game with someone from London a couple weeks ago. Had a fun chat. I wish there weren’t so many ads in the chatroom. Told them about how I’ve been playing poker since my parents taught me when I was about 5. I’m 61 now, and I just hit my first Royal Flush a couple weeks ago. I lost a lot of real money online back in the day, and now I’m back to playing for free, and having fun. It’s a game, not a challenge. Unless you want to make it one. Just my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

After triple by-pass surgery and almost dying (I had a 3 percent chance of survival), I realized life is too short not to care. To reduce stress and extend my time here. I had to rethink the selfish way I was living only for myself. By bringing enjoyment to other people at the cost of my own, I really did become happier. I wouldn’t have believed it myself if you told me this when I was healthy. I hope you never have to go through any serious problems in your life and that every moment is spent enjoying your time here on earth. Good luck in all you do. And if you choose not to care about other people you don’t know, then I hope that works out for you. I’ve chosen a different path.

Some people are quieter than others. Some people may have multiple tables going. Sometimes people are doing other things while playing. Social tables are fun, but quiet tables don’t always mean rude tables.

Lately, I’m part of the problem.
Before the daily missions, I played one table at a time. I tried to focus on what I was doing and what others did and said. I was full of polite nh, vnh, gg, etc, and made friendly comments along the way.
After missions came along, I quickly realized that I had to play multiple tables to get those “Be dealt K9 (any suits)” missions. Suddenly, I was working full-time to keep up with the play and there was really no time at all for chat.
I really like the missions, but this thread has me thinking that I need to post a “I’m nice, but I’m playing multiple tables. Please don’t be offended if I don’t chat” disclaimer to keep from offending others.

It’s just a much more fun game if people table chat. I’ve started noticing those who respond with nh, etc and even if not “friends” yet I can look for those names when registering. I also endorse those who respond to initial hello, etc. It would be nice to have an option to make the chat box larger

I guess you and others did not read my original post:)… They chat with each other but NOT with players they do not know…I make friends easy, 13 months here i have about 210:).
I always try and be polite, but at times I tic people off, so be happy and have fun.

It’s true, bill8888, your original post did say that players were chatting with each other and excluding you. I read through the entire thread before replying, however, and there were others who were bemoaning a general quietness and lack of polite/friendly behavior lately. If you feel that we’ve begun replying in a way that doesn’t quite address your original post, it may be because we’ve read something more recent that sparked us to write.
Please don’t think we’re ignoring you!

Bill - a lot of the nh -gh-nb - come from friends - i know what you are talking about - i play every week with the same people - they are all friends for a while now - i slow play a flush - not 1 comment- their friend wins catching a pr on the river and suddenly gh - nh - i just sit back and giggle to myself - lol - and yes there are some very nice people who compliment no matter if they know you or not - people will be who they are - dont let it bug you - just giggle to yourself - and type gh - to yourself if nobody else does - lol
