Baddest beat I've ever witnessed

That was a rough one. The winner would’ve taken the lo already, but that ace of clubs giving the one player quad aces only to hit the other players straight flush wheel was something!

My personal baddest bad beat happened to me years ago when you could play for money online in the U.S. I believe it was a $5 tourney, NLHoldem for sure.
I had pocket aces, other player had pocket 8’s. I can’t recall just how preflop betting went, but I’m certain there was some raising.
Flop came out ace x x. I went all in which was more than the player with snowmen had, he called, we flopped our cards, I WAS smiling, then saw an 8, wasn’t alarmed until the river was also an 8 :(.
I was soon out of the tourney after that.

Riddle me this, In a live game I made a straight flush and received 1/6 of the pot.
Name the game and what happened, and you get a gold star.

The str8 flush hit the board in a hold’em game.

I think that one unlocks the Bad Beat Achievement.

For@ rain STraight Flush dealt to the board in hold 'em and 6 players stayed in the hand to the end? Maybe a 3,4,5,6,7 ?

That is a possibility, but not the answer

Hint, 3 of the cards you posted were on the board, but that is not the answer.

omaha hi/lo, a higher str flush (from above the 3 consecutive board cards as opposed to your str flush from below) took the high and u shared the low with 2 other players

Drats foiled again, that is correct! I had A2 spades, board came 345 spades, other player had 67 spades and two other A2 hands were shown. @morcosborcos wins!

That hand was very rare, in my 40 years of playing Omaha, that was the second or third time I made dual quads. The only getting 1/6 of the pot while making a straight flush with my hole cards has only happened once in 40 years

Not a bad beat as such, but a really shtty way of getting thrown out of a high stakes tourney.

The thing about your two examples is instead of going on Tilt, realize you were going to go all-in in both examples anyway.

You made two good calls in both examples, especially the first one.

Great reminder for us all @TroubleUnit to remember, even when we think we have the nuts to consider the risk verses reward! and has happened to as well even with a straight flush loosing to a higher one in a tourney. For me that is the Baddest beat one can receive.

man, that’s a tough break! quad aces losing to a straight flush is one for the books.
and your bad beat with pocket aces versus pocket 8’s in that $5 tourney online sounds like a real heartbreaker.

They both were good calls and I would have done the same :+1:t2:

First one was definitely a bad beat. The second one you overvalued QQ preflop to the point of not respecting the all in. You were playing a strong opponent, not a fish. It turned into a bad suckout, but you really shouldn’t have been in that position, and had you won, it would’ve been a suckout in your favor.

While playing last night, rough night, I finally got the K.O. hand I had been waiting for and man was it killer. I don’t remember the last time I had been dealt this kind of hand. I shoved it all in with a straight flush of Diamonds 4 thru 8 picked up the 8 on the flop. Shoved it all in. And lost? The other player I lost to had a straight flush of Diamonds higher than mine. What are the odds? I’ve rarely seen straight flushes, I not naivete, I know they happen, but two straight flushes of the same suit in the same hand. The odds have to be tremendous. It ended my night. I had lost many hands last night, happens, but this was unbelievable. In all the years I’ve played cards, I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed this before. So, I put in a response to the loss and how shock I was to not only see my straight flush, but to see another one, of the same suit, but higher than mine, show up. After I made that statement, that player left the table. Very strange.
