Today, I played well and went over 10M chips for the first time.
This week, I decided to try the Astral Pegasus league out. So far I’m doing OK. 50% ITM, 28% profit, 2 2nd place finishes, and 2 9 place finishes. So far at least, I think the style of play is a bit different from at the 25K buy-in level, although with such a small sample size, that’s probably a premature assessment. But it does seem (so far at least) that there’s a lot more respect given to the game than there is at the Ursa Major level. People seem to be less reckless with their 100K buy-in than is the case oftentimes at 25K, the bet sizes during the early going tends to be more conservative, and so far I haven’t seen anyone making any ridiculous opens or calls.
So far, at least, I think I like it here.
I’m now ranked 2016th on the site at the moment, and it appears that climbing in the rankings above this point is going to require exponential growth of my bankroll. If I can be profitable at this level, I should see the bankroll grow faster than it did when I played at 25K SNGs.

I’ve had an incredible week.
Finishing up my first week playing Pegasus league, I’m 50% ITM through my first 20 games, making 41% profit on the week, have increased my bankroll to nearly 11M, and dropped my rank down to 1847th on the site, up from sitting somewhere in the low 2000s earlier in the week, and up over a million chips from a week ago. And with my last game, I just went over 11M chips. I should collect some pretty nice rewards for the leaderboard, too.

I think the caliber of players at this level is much better than at 25K, but I do better here because there’s fewer surprises from idiots who call to improbable outs to enrage me and throw me into tilt. I own all my mistakes here, or just get beat by better hands.
I’ve also been invited to join Badonk’s Donks league, which is something of an honor from what I have learned about the league’s membership.
Lastly, as of today, I have earned more chips through tournament wins than I have through bonuses. For the longest time, I’d gotten a lot of my chips through league promotions and the daily bonues (including about 1.2M in daily bonuses accrued over a long period of inactivity where I never played, just signed in for the bonus and left, which gave me the starting bankroll I used to learn how to play the tournament format. After winning the league leaderboard bonus chips tonight, I’m sure I’ll go back under again, but it feels like an accomplishment to have won more chips through winning games than through freebies.
I squeezed in one more win before midnight, putting me at 13-13 on the week, 50% ITM, 51% profit.

Congrats, Pug! It’s been fun watching you grow as a player. Given your evolution, I don’t think it’ll be long until you crack the top 1000. There’s still some weakness in your game, particularly around bet sizing, but in general I’d say you’re more skilled than most of the players ranked between 500 and 2K.
