The WILDHORSES Poker League Tournament, aptly named “Secretariat” in honor of the legendary racehorse, was a thrilling showcase of strategy and skill, reminiscent of Secretariat’s own remarkable achievements on the racetrack. Just as Secretariat was celebrated for his breathtaking speed, agility, and a seemingly innate ability to outmaneuver competitors, the tournament participants exhibited similar championship qualities. Players needed not only swift decision-making but also the strategic foresight to navigate the high-stakes environment, mirroring Secretariat’s instinctual brilliance and relentless drive.
In this high-octane poker showdown, @gunslinger13 emerged victorious, embodying the precision and boldness of Secretariat’s winning form. @Sue13 , finishing in a strong second place, demonstrated a strategic finesse akin to Secretariat’s stamina and resilience, while _snowman_, securing the third spot, displayed a competitive edge and sharp tactical awareness that echoed the racehorse’s ability to sustain high performance. Each player’s performance in the “Secretariat” tournament mirrored the racehorse’s championship qualities, making for a compelling and dynamic contest that celebrated excellence in the realm of poker.
Congrats to my friend 13. Was fun, and like old times. Just curious though, did Norris, Michael, and Andy teach writing at the same college? Always an interesting read. Makes me feel like I really played in this awesome game, and when I win, I feel like a queen.
seriously it’s like they all went to the same MFA program LOL
Congrats!
Howdy Pilgrim. Tuesday night started out with a Royale rumble. Back and forth bluffing and then actually having a few Royal flushes. @ROTTWEILER was the class of the field tonight, jumping out to an early lead and never looking back and @southwestmba started late but got on a roll and found some paydirt in second.
Hi-oh Silver away! Eight players gathered for today’s tournament. It went back and forth for a log time, staying pretty even for the most part. Then @Sue13 and the snowman started to warm up. Snowman finally pulled ahead for the victory. Sue played a tenacious game and managed to get second. @Excaliburns played his usual calculating and patient game for third place. Well played today by everyone.
Hello, i’m Mr. Ed!
A horse is a horse, of course, of course
And no one can talk to a horse of course
That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed!
Go right to the source and ask the horse
He’ll give you the answer that you’ll endorse
He’s always on a steady course
Talk to Mr. Ed!
People yakkity yak a streak and waste your time of day
But Mister Ed will never speak unless he has something to say
A horse is a horse, of course, of course
And this one’ll talk 'til his voice is hoarse
You never heard of a talking horse?
Well listen to this…
I am Mister Ed!
Mr Ed really likes to watch seven card stud and we gave him a show tonight. @southwestmba and @tjmcfarland staged a monster heads up duel watching both stacks rise and fall until a 9 on the river crowned the champion. @Excaliburns showed us the way to the final table and set up the fireworks at the end. Great game tonight.
Very well said Andy, and I loved Mr. Ed. Congrats to all who played a tough game.
Bullseye
“Ride like the wind, Bullseye!”
—Woody’s battle cry
Bullseye is one of the main characters introduced in [Toy Story 2). He is Jessie’s horse and a member of Woody’s Roundup.
Despite being a horse, Bullseye acts more like a dog. He tucks his tail down and hides when he’s scared, and when he’s happy, he just has to lick something—in this case, Woody. He is extremely affectionate towards Woody, Jessie and the [other toys].
Bullseye is speedy, but he has other talents as well. He knows how to control the room light dimmers, work the TV remote, and turn off the video player. And he does it all without hands or fingers—just some fancy hoofwork.
Friday night omaha hilo with the wildhorses. The play certainly hit the bullseye too.
@Dreamer2023 ruled the day shooting down all that challenged him. @gunslinger13 was up to the task but alas there can be only one. @Excaliburns was fast and tactical as he navigated to 3rd. Fun game.
The WILDHORSES Poker League Omaha Hi/Lo tournament named Affirmed witnessed an impressive turnout of 22 players, making it the most well-attended event of the quarter. The tournament showcased a thrilling display of skill and resilience, culminating in an exciting finish. @Littlepug emerged as the victor in a dramatic fashion, battling back from a precarious position with less than 1000 chips on multiple occasions. Her tenacity and ability to survive several all-ins secured her the top spot.
@pantera6118 , adopting a “stoned” approach to the game, demonstrated impressive strategic play to claim a strong second place. Meanwhile, @Weedwoman420 showcased her poker prowess to secure third place. @Magnanimous, who had made a dramatic trade involving a flaming sword and a snowman’s carrot nose in hopes of replicating the snowman’s success, found himself unable to fend off his opponent’s relentless attacks with the carrot nose, despite his unique strategy. He finished in fourth place and claimed the last chip payout spot, and remained in good spirits and respectful of his fellow competitors. Congratulations to all participants for their exceptional play in today’s tournament.
