My favorite is, for me, George Carlin. I would post some of his better stuff, but it’s not gonna clear the QA check. I miss him…
Bill Hicks, Bill has stood the test of time, his material on the Iraq war was just prescient ( other notable contempories of his like Sam Kinnison sound dated )
“Charlie Hodge the man who brings me my scarves and my water” is one of the most amazing pieces of stand up I’ve ever heard. ( and very rude )
George Carlin, Bill Hicks and Richard Pryor. The Unholy Trinity.
I saw Robin Williams live on stage for two and a half hours - I missed the last half hour as I had fallen asleep in exhaustion. What a maniac. I’ve never laughed so hard. RIP
Mitch Hedberg was great. RIP
I loved Gilda Radner on SNL. RIP
Dave Chappel, Eddie Murphy, Sarah Silverman, Ellen DeGeneres, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Russel Peters.
Where would we be without comedians?
Good 2 see again!
Good that I could remind You of BILL HICKS!
RIP Bob Saget. OMG, another one.
Mitch Hedberg.
Robin Williams, Steve Martin, Jackie Gleason, Tim Conway, Carol Burnett…
Just thinking about them and their skits gives me a chuckle. Many great ones out there.
Laughter is good for what ails ya’ .
George Carlin by far was the master !
George Carlin put out more than two dozen specials over his 50-year career, making him the Cy Young of comedy. He started out, like a lot of these comedians, as fairly mainstream, doing characters like [“The Hippy Dippy Weatherman,”] before becoming decidedly more countercultural. Carlin’s great ability was to dissect any subject, like [football vs. baseball] using his smarts and clear love of language, including the seven words you can’t say on TV.
A lot of great comedians over the yrs but I must say - Robin Williams stands out - his stand up shows are ridiculously hilarious and his interviews and guest spots are just as funny. This is not even mentioning his movies - both comedic and dramatic . I highly recommend you watching his stand up performance as well as Eddie Murphys first 2 filmed stand up shows- Stuff this good never gets old.
I am a Marxist of the Groucho sort. His one-liners from 100 years ago are still funny today.
I’d like to post some George Carlin material but it’s filled with explicit language so I don’t know if I can. You have to see some of his specials on you tube
oh shut up…richard. …her… british comedian.
My Dad loved this guy and never missed a show. To the Moon
Patricia Routledge played the part of Mrs Hyacinth Bucket and Richard was player by Clive Swift. The show was Keeping Up Appearances
