if I get far enough in a tournament, I’ve said gg when it it’s down to the wire, between hands; like if I know I’ll need to go all in because it’s all or over, or if it’s real tight…then I don’t say anything when it’s over
@fezzik424 , regarding the subject title, Who says gg first the winner or the loser? I would say the winner, loser or anyone who didn’t play. I think it is a polite way of thanking, that player for his/her participation in the game and fellowship of the Great Replay Community.
lots of players are polite and always say gg but i am talking about players who normally never chat go on a roll knock a player out and hit gg which to them means look at me i am having a gg and then they lose and slink away with oddly no gg at all…you never see players like this?
Sure, but very few. I believe the vast majority of players are polite and that is why they say gg. I don’t remember a time when receiving a gg, it ever bother me.
I’ve never noticed that in 8 years here. GG means good game. I wouldn’t read into it more than that.
I really think you should consider it as a good positive thing and look forward to the next game you play
well if craig anthony says it never happens then i agree that never happens …cant argue with 8 years …case closed
There’s me always thinking gg stood for good grief, ah well, learn something every day.
This is easy. GG means Good Game.
The person leaving the tournament should normally say it first and the winner should say something nice in reply if he is in the mood.
If the looser does not say anything then the winner may say something, once again, if he is in the mood.
Neither is required to say anything, only out of an excess of politeness.
I notice a lot of players never turn “chat” on and therefore never give or receive any messages all through the game. This is OK because it does take their attention away from the table.
Personal preference.
Stay safe, David
I think “gg” is always nice. “ty” on the other hand seems a bit questionable if you say it to someone you’ve just knocked out of a tournament, or stacked on a cash table.
Saying GG is always polite no matter who says it first.
sorry craig but sayin after gg after knock someone out is like kicking them after you knock them out. for example at the tropicana u go all in with 72 and i call with aces and u win and u look at me and say gg and i knock your two teeth out that seems justified if u look at case reality vs anthony in1988
simple ace looser means you cant spell
IMO it’s always friendly and/or nice saying gg or good game whether you just got knocked out or just knocked somebody out. This is just for fun and it’s free, never any hard feelings, enjoy the magic and the comaraderie . If someone wants to feel dissed when you say gg to them after knocking them out, then so be it, sorry they feel that way.
If i have been at the same table with someone for a long stretch I always try and acknowledge that player because it has some context to it and hopefully isn’t taken as a jab. If we are at a final table a gg is always appropriate because they did play a gg to get that far. And in league play it promotes good vibes especially in a team poker league like Dream Weavers. I will admit though if I get crushed on the river, there might be a delay in the gg.
You sound like and angry person and sore loser.
Stay classy.
Im reading some of your stuff…see you soon
