Congrats to both New England Patriots Hall of fame inductee’s yesterday :+1:t2::football::us:

Dante Scarnecchia won five Super Bowls as the Patriots’ offensive line coach and spent 34 seasons with the organization over three separate stints (1982-88, 1991-2013, 2016-19). The fourth contributor to join the Hall of Fame, he was hand-picked by owner Robert Kraft back in April.

Mike Vrabel, on the other hand, earned Hall of Fame recognition by winning a fan vote earlier this year. A founding member of the Patriots’ dynasty, he appeared in a combined 142 regular season and playoff games over an eight-year span, and helped bring three Super Bowls to New England.

Should be an interesting day of Football. Hoping somehow the Patriots can upset the Bills and it’s being reported Bill Belichick has signed a multi year contract extension with the Patriots.

Let’s hope so. It’s a cold windy afternoon in Gillette Stadium.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick agreed to a “lucrative” multi-year contract extension in the offseason, according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Sunday morning.

“Sources say Bill Belichick, during the offseason, quietly agreed to terms on a lucrative multi-year new contract…it’s fair to say there was at least some uncertainty or intrigue surrounding him. Now, contractually, he is locked up long term.”

New England is 1-5 on the season, and off to their worst six game start in the Belichick era. With the fan base stirring and outsiders wondering if Belichick’s job would be in jeopardy, the new contract that the longtime Patriots coach agreed to in the offseason certainly changes the conversation regarding his future.

While Rapoport did not disclose the specifics of the financial commitment from the Patriots to Belichick, one can assume that it would be expensive for team owner Robert Kraft to part ways with his longtime head coach, who with Tom Brady helped the franchise capture six Super Bowl titles in his two decades at the helm.

My Pittsburgh team won another ugly game, but a win is a win:). I saw that good young Detroit team get awwww embarrassed by Baltimore, the NFC is much weaker than the AFC this year.

Philly is looking good and so are the Chiefs as usual but it’s not even half way through the season yet.

The New England Patriots announced some roster cuts on Tuesday.

Quarterback Malik Cunningham and defensive lineman Trey Flowers were released. ESPN’s Mike Reiss noted that Cunningham could be headed for the practice squad if he clears waivers.

The Patriots signed Cunningham as an undrafted free agent out of Louisville this summer. He spent much of his time with the franchise on the practice squad but was elevated to the active roster for an Oct. 15 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Cunningham saw action at both quarterback and wide receiver in a 21-17 loss to the Raiders.

Although Cunningham has been released, the Patriots are still led at quarterback by Mac Jones. Bailey Zappe is his primary backup and Will Grier is also on the roster.

The Patriots signed Flowers in August and he was placed on the physically unable to perform list to begin the season. He suffered an injury after appearing in just four games for the Miami Dolphins during the 2022 campaign and hasn’t suited up since Oct. 16, 2022.

Flowers began his NFL career with the Patriots after the franchise selected him in the fourth round of the 2015 draft out of Arkansas. He won two Super Bowls with the franchise and was a key member of the defensive line from 2015-18.

Following his stint in New England, Flowers played for the Detroit Lions from 2019-21 before joining the Dolphins in 2022.

In 79 games across eight seasons, the 30-year-old posted 31.5 sacks, seven pass breakups, 10 forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 265 tackles, 37 tackles for loss and 87 quarterback hits.

The Patriots are coming off a massive victory over Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The game marked just their second win of the season and they sit fourth in the AFC East with a 2-5 record heading into a huge matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
