The fairness debate

Geez, you guys, assuming grown men, are something else.

It’s simple, there’s a trigger in the deal that makes the game less enjoyable. However, it’s still a good game, site and what have you.

The reason there’s a forum is for people to comment, good or bad.

Doesn’t mean they need to leave by any means.

//quote// SuperDoopar 14 days ago Just DUMD arse MODS… look at the site numbers hahaha, Zinga gets more players than here… All about the MONEY, not the people…RUN BY DONKEYS & MODDED BY MONKEYS… Bad combination

//unquote //

So you realy think this is a normal comment Eyeamdaman?? I am a grown man yes, thats why I commented on this insulting comment from Superdooper. I think the Mods and siteowner dont have to put up with this insult. I also find it disrespectfull. respectfull would be, to have a comment about something and then there can be a discussion. By no means this comment was up for discussion as he in his words cared about any of it, he just likes to insult and loves himself… And if I was him when i think this was asuch a bad site, would just find my luck somewhere else. Please do so, cause why stay on such a bad run site with in his words, Dumb arse, donkey Mods and site owners. Just go if its as bad as this.

This is really extremely simple. And it has nothing to do with the difference between random number generators and physical decks of cards.

You are playing low stakes against players who do not know what they are doing and just want to see a flop. In hold’em there is a TON of variance. For example, AA will lose a coinflip to 23 offsuit 13% of the time. That is more than 1 out of 10 flips. When you combine that with so many multi-way pots, of course there are going to be surprising outcomes. Even a 2-outer has a 4+% chance to hit the river.

I have played over 77k hands (not that many I know) on this site, and I have had more bad beats than lucky spots (because a good player won’t need extreme luck to pay off as often, and because it’s easier to remember the bad beats).

I have gotten to over 3m by playing relatively small stakes (5-20k tourneys mostly), and I have seen first hand that while bad players may get lucky and incredible cards will hit, just like any poker, skill will prevail. Now let’s get back to the tables!

Sorry Joe, there is a clear pattern to who will win at any given table. Nothing to do with players that no little to nothing about playing poker.

The cards are deciding the outcome, not the player. When the cards fall into place hand after hand after hand, no skill is needed.

This happens all the time.

That’s not poker.

https://www.replaypoker.com/hand/replay/133563728 here is a great example of what you just said

now I not complaining or anything just showing great examples how cards are not random at all

soon as the flopped happen I said to myself they going throw a Queen on river sure enough there was the queen

For every hand where a shocking card comes on the river, there are another 10 where nothing surprising happens.

Yes, in a hand like QQ vs AK where the queens win you can say that the system was attempting to eliminate the player because you are obviously going to bet with AK (allowing the system to cause you to lose). But my question is: why would the system want a particular player to lose in a particular spot? How would they implement a system timed at eliminating you (these examples seem to come at different stages of different types of tournaments)?

You are taking something that involves a number of possible outcomes (any starting hand has at least 10% to win heads up) and interpreting the negative outcomes as systematic. It has been proven by many players (such as Trav) that they are good at poker and can therefore do much better than breaking even. It is clearly a game of skill.

question is though why do they do this to me all the time

I mean its sad every time I flop a hand instead of oh how many chips can I get from each player instead I am asking how in the heck am I going to lose this particular hand and it seems to always come at a critical point

I not trying be a sore loser or anything

but its gets so frustrating every time

Hey I’m just wondering, is the assumption that the cards are not random only involved in tournament play? Or are ring games suspected also? I have seen no real problem where I felt something was amiss and I normally only play ring games. If I do play tournament it’s the sit and go.

I have seen crazy stuff on the ring games before too

one I can think of off top my head

i was dealt A8

flop came 8 queen 8 i forget what the turn and river card was

but I had flop 3 of a kind another player had also flop same 3 of a kind with a 7 kicker and a 3rd player had pocket queens giving him a fullhouse

twice on ring games I had flopped ace high flush and twice player had shove all in before I could act and both times the players hit a fullhouse

JoeDirk,

Sorry, again almost, and I’m talking at an alarming rate, the river card turning the game is the rule here not the exception.

Again, the system, as you call it, is not discriminating against any particular player, it is however, favoring a random player at a table.

The favored player can be behind pre-flop and almost always hits the community cards to go ahead. Conversely, if the favored player is ahead pre-flop, they rarely(very rarely) are beaten.

You see it all the time.

i can assure u buying isnt involved, i have bought chips and taken many bad beats and lost my chips

take a lesson from good old president obama, he runs the most open and transparent administration in history…hehehe

i had a guy call my pkt aces w 27 off, when i lost i asked him why he called, he remarked its his fav hand, u cant stop that, so if u dont like the result try waiting to see all the cards then bet, a novel idea right?

super

superdooper plays very loosely, just another observation

I have seen friends come and go on this site, like swinging doors. I have also thought of leaving my chips and never coming back. Why? I don’t get this frustrated in real poker, so why here? Because it happens time and again where you think you have a good hand, and bet big, and get called by K3 or 52 and your pkt Q’s get taken down by full house or strt. Really? I am thinking they know something I don’t know. I’ve worked hard to get my 16 mill over a course of 4 yrs. Should I just leave like others. NO! Don’t want to, I enjoy people here. Please Please get this site back to where we don’t feel frustrated all the time. Pretty sure you all know what I’m saying here! Yes it’s free site to most, but being frustrated makes it not a fun site, nor is it fair.

we get frustrated cause we expect players play poker like you would live and not be calling with k 3 or 2 5 3 10 2 7 etc… I have tried many things even making stupid call and plays that makes no sense but it never works for me so why does it work for others and its a domino affect one player sees another player winning with 3 9 they think hey i can play my 4 jack

and win so on and so on

why reward players making a wrong call why not reward the player making the right calls and moves

when I hit any hand instead of asking myself how many chips can I get from each player left in the hand instead I am asking myself how in the heck am I going to lose this hand

“I am thinking they know something”

I believe that as well

it makes no sense at all

example

saw player shove all in preflop another player called and a 3rd player called behind them

it was AA vs KK vs 3-10 I dont recall the flop but it didn’t help either player turn card a 3 and river card a 3

and I am thinking how in the heck can you call two previous all in with 3-10

now if it was me that had 3-10 obviously I am folding cause it makes no sense at all

That’s what everyone who is complaining is talking about - it’s very frustrating when you can sense the cards are going for a particular player.

No matter how you play the hand you are for certain to lose.

Conversely, that particular player can call anything and almost always wins the hand.

I just don’t like the fact the site mods and owners insults your intelligence by telling you what you are witnessing is not happening.

It defies logic why they insist the cards are random when you can see hand after hand they aren’t.

That, for me is what is most frustrating.

And, it’s telling Paul and crew don’t even engage this topic any longer.

reason replay staff no longer engages in this topic is cause their excuses are not working and nobody buys into it excuses 1. “its fake chips” yes its true its fake chips but it still does not explain why they reward bad plays

2 “its poker” yes its poker bad beats happen we all get that but when it happens hand after hand after hand players realize hey this is not random at a

  1. “certificate” yes they have a certificate that says site is “RANDOM” “FAIR” and “UNPREDICTABLE”

I have asked what exactly did they test and got no answer

did they just test the pocket cards dealt to players then yes to anyone these cards seem to be “RANDOM”

did they test what cards come on the flop turn and river either way these cards are not “RANDOM”

did they test how many 3 of a kinds straights flushes fullhouses

4 of a kinds straight flushes and royal flushes

yes you do play more hands online than you do live but one thing still remains you still playing with same amount of players as you would live and you still playing with the same 52 card deck only difference is you don’t have to wait for dealer gather all the cards you don’t have to wait for dealer to shuffle and deal and you don’t have to wait for player to stack their new chips they have just won

  1. “you are a bad poker”

lol so I am a bad poker player who goes all in preflop and with pocket aces and get call by 3-10 and course we all know the 3-10 gets rewarded where live poker you go all in preflop with pocket aces 3-10 will fold in a blink of an eye not thinking twice of calling and if for some chance they do more than likely will lose cause least in live poker the deal is “RANDOM”

Spot on trav, spot on!
