Small pairs late in tournies

I didnt advocate limping a lot with small pockets. I only said that its best to do a mix of raising, limping, calling, calling 3 bets, 4,5 betting, folding, shoving, all inning, etc DEPENDING ON THE SITUATION.

I then described some to most of those situations.

What you said about what to do with small pockets is generally right. But you werent correcting what I said or didnt need to correct what I said as what I said was also right in general, depending on the situation

Assuming standard generalities, etc, then in general it can be is right to fold 22, 33, UTG, limp 44, 55, 66 UTG, early position, and only call small raises if have good pot odds, if cheap enough relative to stack, in order to set mine, otherwise fold if raise too big.

Also occasionally, carefully raise small pockets 3 x pre, to balance out range, mix up game, and because if they call, and if you hit set, they will never put you on a set of 4’s, etc, and can stack players.

In middle position mix up limping, and occasionally raising small pockets, especially if table is too tight, passive, and doesnt 3 bet enough.

It certainly sounded like you were advocating limping a lot with small pockets

Your taking 1 or 2 lines, a paragraph, a sound bite of what I said out of context.

In UTG, UTG +1, you SHOULD be limping small pockets more(about 59% to 67% of time), and Minraising, 2.5 x raising small, smaller pockets from UTG, UTG+1, the minority of time, and 22,33 is good to consider open folding 22,33 from UTG, depending on situation.

Later on in post, I clarified, explained what to do in a lot of situations, where I covered, talked about a mix of raising, limping, calling, folding, reraising, 3,4,5 betting, and WHEN, and WHAT positions, stack sizes, situations, When ok, should do each thing GENERALLY, and situationally, both, combined, etc.

Now maybe you didnt see, read that, and maybe you only read the part you quoted where yeah I said to limp small pockets UTG, UTG+1. But I also clarified, later said to raise, call, 3,4,5 bet, fold, small pockets, and when, what, how, etc, to do each, etc.

Context, reading everything, understanding, reading between lines, etc, is important.

Not trying to give you a hard time. And I, we all occassionally miss context, etc, at times.

In UTG, early position, as you quoted, one should only occasionally raise small pockets. Raising Small pockets a lot from UTG, early position is a great way to possibly get into trouble. Small pockets can seem hard to play UTG, early position. Folding them is wrong, unless, except 22. And raising them a lot in UTG, early can get one into trouble, so that leaves limping about 59% to 70% of time.

In mid position one can raise more often with Small Pockets, but still its right to limp pockets about 49% to 59% to 63% of time in mid position, so as to not get into trouble by raising small pockets a lot or all the time.

MP2, Hi Jack, Cut off, Button, etc, is where somebody should raise small pockets a semi lot more often, call small bets, raises, 3 bets, and 3,4,5 bet, reraise OCCASIONALLY IN RIGHT SPOT, VS RIGHT PLAYERS and still be careful calling big giant raises with small pockets, and where consider folding small pockets vs big giant bets, raises, all in, etc.

I explained most to almost all of this stuff in the post I made.
