that one will reset (used to?) on each new table
Showing cards simply degrade the essence of the game . ps it’s their not there.
I got in the habit of showing when playing with friends in ring games and continue to in MTTs,
Not to pound my chest or worse confirm a good fold, Rather to show (time after time hopefully)
I’m not buffing (until I might) and soon those who are (bluffing or weak) quickly fold or think they should
Yep, i will show friends on here and it is not 2 brag, but to just show them i had the winner…Cash games-I NEVER show:).
Mighty, why do you take the WHOLE clock on every card from beginning to end of a tournament? I can understand when near the bubble or next money line, that is very disrespectful:)…Asking for a friend lol
Sorry for the delay, I dont check my messages often.
I have played multi table tournaments in casinos for many years. Ever since they begin having them back in the 50’s . Have played in some pretty big ones and won some and cashed in many. I owned and operated three card rooms in California. I used to teach customes who were serious about winning how to play tournament poker.
Surprisingly many very good poker players don’t realize that in a multit table tourney you are not just playing against the players at your table, you are also playing against every player in the tournament. If you are playing in a tourney with 40 tables at the start and the game is no limit holdem you would problabl expect tables with players in general would probable 50+ hands per hour. A table playing with each taking all of the allowed time will probably be in the range of 20 hands per hour. Roughly twice as many players pet table being knocked out per hour at each of the other table as at yours. If you watch the number of players in the Bust the Staff tourney , the biggest touirney here at Replay, you will see how many players are knocked out in the first hour and compare it with your table if the play is at a slower pace. Always interesting to watch when you get down the the firal two tables, to see how many are knocked out compared to your table.
There is a lot more too this, but I am not a great typest so will stop for now. Just one other quick point. Card rooms and casinos of course make there money from the drop on the tables and online sites depend on the drop as well. Because of that when they dont like tourneys as well as open play because its slower and less income. Once they became popular and they starting being televised, the card rooms and casinos started putting in some rules to speed them up. That worked fairlly well for the casinos and card rooms, but the pro players continued to use the time allowed. Playing time in the rooms did speed up some, but not a lot. The touring pros started playing faster, but a lot of them just started narrating thier hands to the teleision cameras. The fans liked it and so the sponsors begin demanding that those players be invited into the tourneys they sponsored. Now the station hesitate trying to speed up those players.
Any way, I certainly was not slow playing to disrespect anybody. I was playing to help myself and all the players at the table. I appreciate you sending your email.
One note, there is no advantage to anybody to slow play at the final table. I hope to see you at a final table soon. I will send you a friend request soon.
Thanks, Butch (Seville)
Lots of strategic reasons to show cards. But no, not every hand.
When I am playing my best I am a relentless LAG. Sometimes I will start showing every hand just to make sure people realize how out of line I am getting. Then they overadjust and I print money <3
I played MANY different money games in my LONG life also—BUT this is a free fun site, not polite to take the WHOLE clock every card from beginning to win a couple of extra play chips and make it miserable for the rest of us:) Just my thoughts.
Yep, cash games online you can show one card lol, it is kind of funny, but i NEVER show in ANY cash game—Here, show to friends sometimes to show i had the winner.
I have to ask this, have YEE recently been to a Renaissance Festival ? I go every year and usually talk like that for about a week afterwards LOL!
I agree and have also witnessed the same thing. some players get upset if they show their cards like you said, and when you do not they get hostile. I thought that was a little off ??
I confess that I have not read the other replies. Also, I haven’t been able to figure out how to show my hand on Replay for a few years! hahaha, not since it was changed a LONG time ago.
That being said, there may be tactical reasons for some times showing, and I sometimes think that more naive players wish to show that they weren’t bluffing. As IF that’s not okay!

Have a good one, all!
Hi unknownlegend,
You can turn on/off auto muck on a table by table basis or for your account (every table you play). Hope this helps :

old site i played at had that and i used it sometimes liked it.
you are right about cash games on tv, it can be used as a tool to your advantage ({or not) lol.
gets your opponent thinking lol…
i would love to have that here…game could be a bit more interesting …imo
I must say, I would do the same to get to a better position & @bill8888 my friend. I don’t know the circumstances of concern but, if I remember correctly part of Replays Mission is to provide an online site that resembles Live play. I would be an advocate of donating an extra ante if being timed out though, just like the pro’s on tour.
Thank you!
Yvw
I agree. Never show. A lot of losing hands that show seem to want to validate their bets or why they hung in. It’s a foolish move IMO. Always leave them guessing, showing never helps.
I GUARNANTEE you (from years of experience) that live (real play) players DO NOT take the whole clock at the beginning of a tournament. Near the bubble or next money line yes, ok my friend:).
OHHH, they still have it, i play on a site (party poker-small cash games) and you can show one or both cards, it is is very strange, i do not even look when ppl. show one card and i do not show ANYTHING ever in cash games but does make me lol:).
