River's end

Now, I know there are plenty of tales about the River killing your very good hand. I recently had 2 pair going into the River with just one player left on the table. That person had 650,000 chips in his stack, I had 300K. I go all in and guess what, well you know the story. That player didn’t have a true winning hand and went all in. No real reason to do that with the hand he or she had. If they had folded, no real large damage. It’s a 1 in 32 chance in getting the Queen he or she needed and guess what? Yep, bang game over for me. It just seems to happen on this site more than usual. I’ve played a lot of poker in my life time and I’m not the greatest, not even close, but I’m pretty darn good. I don’t know. Makes one wonder. If it’s a rigged game, why? No real money involved, so I’m just bewildered. Murphy’s Law is guess.

No, it’s not rigged, it’s just bad timing. Rivers can be a truly cruel mistress sometimes, can make your excellent hand look silly with just one card. Lucky for some, very unlucky for others, that’s just poker for you.

Evidently they did have the winning hand. Shake it off, it’s video poker.

If the chips had real value, they more than likely would’ve folded.

This can be a tough thing to take. I remember playing for about 5 hours building a nice stack of chips only to go all-in on pocket A’s and have someone beat it with a lucky straight draw. I promised never to beat my keyboard on a bad beat. Luckily, my computer is a Legion laptop gaming system by Lenovo (quite expensive but can take the hits).

Then I thought to myself. How often has this lucky person suffered a bad beat? And how many chips did I really lose? Only the ones I brought to the table and most of those came from other people.

Good luck at the tables my friend. And thank you for posting this topic. I feel better now. And who knows when your luck will bring a bounty of chips to make you smile.

Poker is like life. There are good times and bad times. The bad times make the few good times all that much sweeter. Live for the good and Survive the bad. Keep smiling!

Pocket Aces, just fold next time… I honestly think 80% of my bad beats come with pocket aces

Pocket aces mean nothing here

Typical replay. Happens all the time.

Yep, that’s an absolute. I’ve just seen too many unreal hands pop up on the river in this site. I really don’t care, I thought I’d just start a conversation. And I didn’t have pocket Aces. That combo has killed me too many times, especially getting downed by an A killer hand of three 2. What I mean is someone has a set of twos, hangs in with high bids and the flop comes and there’s the trip 2’s your pocket Ace killer. Hey, thanks for your reply. Have a great day.

No, this site is not rigged. poker is just so fkn brutal my friend you have no idea how demoralizing this game can be. it will always feel like you are drowning and you cant do nothing about it. the good news is that everyone that plays is also drowning along with you. so you can either choose to sink lower like the others or try to stay afloat as much as you can and be the last person to drown.

Like ive said before notice how people will always complain that the site or app they play is rigged? pokerstars is rigged, GGPoker is rigged, 888poker is rigged… you get the point, the truth is that they are not rigged. that’s just the core nature of poker. Advance players understand this concept, amateur players do not, and crushers make peace with this concept.

The old saying goes” if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen “

I never said it was rigged. I said it seemed like it is. But, I also said, “It’d wouldn’t make no sense.” Did you mess that part or do you just want to speak? Read the whole statement. I totally understand this concept. And don’t give me that advanced player stuff. Played this game too much to know the percentages of certain hands coming up. I have “no idea” how brutal this game can be? “I may have been born at night, but it wasn’t last night.” I know plenty how this game can leave you shaking your head. But, as I stated. I was just starting conversation and here comes the wise guy’s, think they know it all. Well, if you did, you wouldn’t have to blow your horn. Real good players know that. And I stated I was no expert, so I lay myself out there. If you notice the heading up there, “River’s End?” I think that says it all. “Every hands a winner and every hand’s a loser.” I just won a tournament. Not because I was so much better than the other players, because some luck involved. Pulled some bluffs, and hit some spot on hands. It’s all luck. “I’d rather be lucky than good.” And one final note. I always leave the table with either saying " good luck to all." Or, good game." I do that more and mean it. And I don’t let it bother me, when I’m done and lost a close one. It’s nothing, but a meatball." Ciao.
