Just reviewed my own performance since deciding not to play further 1 million entry tournies until having bankroll in excess of 40 million. I’ve looked at my last 61 tournaments in the range of 50 to 500k. I cashed in 16 of those and collected bounty(s) in 7 others. I played a dozen 50k tournies for a return of 1,546,540 on an investment of 600,000. In 100k tournies I played 22 tournies for a return of 4,817346 on an investment of 2,200,000. I played 17 quarter mil tournies for a return of 5,962,212 on an investment of 4,250,000. Finally I played 8 half mil tournies for a return of 4,332,000 on an investment of 4,000,000.
Pleasing to note I made a profit in all 4 categories. It appears that the small profit in 500K tournies can be put down to playing against more skilled players.
My take from this is I should continue to focus on the 50 to 500k range and try to make incremental improvements to my game to become more profitable in 500K tournies.
There is no better feeling than consistently building your bankroll and for me the decision to stop playing 1 mil tournies was a good one as I regained some confidence in my game and I’m enjoying poker like I did before playing the 20 One million chip tournies.
