New 2k/5k MTT tickets

@Whittaker
That pretty much sums up what I hoped would happen, A relaxed, casual weekly tourney where every player has an equal opportunity of a decent position on the leaderboard. Unfortunately the Gemstone leagues have been hijacked to become weekly satellite tournaments to the Monthly MTT leaderboards. Players in the Emerald league have already played 20 & 21 of a possible 24 games so casual/recreational goes out the window.
However, The Gemstones idea has so much more potential than this and I would like to see it succeed. Another possible idea is to change the names of the current tournaments to weekly MTT leaderboards and try again. Take the original concept ofā€¦ ā€œMTT Leagues scheduled around the clock for players from all around the globe with all bankroll sizes to have a casual MTT league to play each weekā€ā€¦and give it another go. Start with one 15k/15k ticket tournament with a game every 4 hours, must play a minimum of 8 per week (1/5th of total approx), all games count to average score for position on the leaderboard.
Simple and straightforward.

I donā€™t like that you are count just top 7 or top 20 games , because here is more players are playing in USA time and much less in European time, USA players have more touverment points then European. All games should be count and all points. Sit and Go now also empty at European time with this system.
That also happened with the BankrollBuilder weekly, its boosting my Monthly Leaderboard Low, bigtimeā€¦I mean really, seriouslyā€¦ Ya only need top 40 monthly in the L/M/H boards, yet BB is top 20 weeklyā€¦ just playing in that gives me 80 toword Monthly Low.

Whoeverit, if you ran all 4 amts (not just 15k), starting @ midnight ( anyones timezone ) then just ran 1 per hour, rotating thru them every 4 hoursā€¦ thats 6 chances per day, yet screws Noone in the process. You make them only count to themselves, not the monthiesā€¦ and come up with a equitable Leaderboardā€¦ then whammo, a awesome longterm promotionā€¦ but keep them monthly so they are the alternative to the current boards, and they should NOT overlap with the Regional Red MTTs so those can go back to being red.

@Sassy_Sarah
The Gemstones are a success as they are so I doubt if the changes we suggested will be made but it would be great to salvage something of this idea. Thats why I suggested starting small with a single tournament and when it proves to be a success (and it will) other buy-ins can be introduced. Eventually as the site grows it would be fantastic to see this idea develop into a group of full blown ā€œperformance leaguesā€ with weekly and monthly leaderboards. As an added bonus Imagine thisā€¦ The first week of January a week long tourney where all the previous years weekly winners fight it out to be named ā€œperformer of the yearā€ or ā€œAce of Acesā€. Maybe a gold silver bronze and bubble medal displayed by your avatar at the tables for the year.

Well, I think the leaderboards in general can be improved, but the bias canā€™t for the maniacsā€¦ Replay does other stuff to stop the sharks from eating the guppies as is, but not in the leaderboards or almost every promo I have seen. Iā€™m certainly not tryin to tell them how to run thier site.

The ave # of players online is what, 900ish off peak, 2k on peak ??? It varies a little but in general thats what I seeā€¦ maybe with a few tweaks, it could be dbbl or tripple that easyā€¦ Iā€™m sure just by basic %s, revenue would go up from the increase in playersā€¦ iono

What I have seen @ other sites ( not just poker ) is they try and sell you widgets, when you wanna buy cogsā€¦

Just a note to mention that 4 MTTs have been added from the 2nd week, on the off-peak time window:

 • Eye of the Tiger - 3:00 ET (Sapphire League)
 • Good Fortune - 3:30 ET (Diamond League)
 • The Worm - 4:00 ET (Ruby League)
 • Angel of Mercy - 4:30 ET (Emerald League)

Thanks all again for all the feedback :raised_hands:. We will have an official thread on the Gemstone Leagues where players will be able to leave their feedback. This will be posted when getting to the end of the promotion.

When it comes to the different leaderboard types and mechanisms you have all suggested, we will definitely look into it with the team internally. Hopefully we can test their popularity as part of our future seasonal promotions and see how successful they can be.

However, the 1st week of this promotion seems to show that any player who plays 10-15 MTTs a week can have a chance to compete and rank high in the league. This was the original objective of this promotion. Letā€™s see how it goes by the end of it.

Ps: @Whittaker, your post and illustration of a recreational player was delightful! Thanks! :clap: :slight_smile:
So, 1 each board and 3 in the diamond board had less than 2x the 7ā€¦ so 14+ or 2 per day. Lets see is this increases now that there were latenight ones addā€™d. Thats for top 10, not winning.
Depending on what time of day, under current schedule that can be alot of invested time, so not exactly casual to me. On the other hand, if you are 1 of those rare players that plays 2-3 of the Regional leagues, then since they have to try and play every day, they are guarenteed 14 each week with no addā€™d effort. For this very reason, even if the times are the sameā€¦ split up the Regionals back to what they used to be, and run the Jewel leagues seperately. These leagues also helped the ppl that play ā€œhighā€ leaderboard, as they addā€™d a couple xtra, high MTTs.

Giving casual players thier own leagues, has been needed and should be perm. I am on the fence if these really are ā€œcasualā€, but should not be combined with Regionals.

I noticed that the time limit to use ALL tickets has become 5 years,which I have no problem with. Regarding the new,lower entry tix can someone point me in the direction of where I can learn all about leagues,how they function and TBH what their purpose is. I admit total ignorance of poker leagues and am eager to learn about them. Thanks in advance, Finn007.

Go to the promotions page, from there pick the Gemstone leagues, all the info is there.

Hi Finn. While you are checking the Gemstone promotions it may be worth taking a look at the Regional leagues, you may be particularly interested in the American League, and also the MTT Leaderboard - Low which would include the low stakes Gemstone league.

I was wondering would it be possible to show tickets of a different value separate from each other rather than as a combined total. Maybe show them as separate groups or colour code for each value ticket.

Thanks for this suggestion ā€“ weā€™ll be discussing this one as well. Just to clarify, are you referring to the Lobby here? Or your bank page? Assuming the former, but want to be sure. :slight_smile:

Both really if possible. Thanks

How about scheduling the 5K Ticket FRs at a decent Central Standard time ?
Is that possible ?
5AM is too early for a lot of players here in the US

.#1. problem currently with Jewel Leagues is ā€¦ they are incorporated into the Regional Leagues. Even if the Jewel League MTTs run same time, they should not count for both Leaderboards.

We discussed this today and agree ā€“ it can be pretty confusing to look at this in the lobby right now. We plan on making some overall adjustments to the lobby to make it better overall: more readable, easily understandable, etc. Just need to work out how to do it. :slight_smile:
