Sorry for the confusion, I meant to say 45 players not 30!
Based on player feedback, and esp. to allow some of the couples on RP who like to play in tourneys, we’ve reduced this from 45 players to 20 players for now. We’ll continue to review and probably increase this minimum once we get higher numbers of players entering tourneys.
We’re also considering adding additional measures for when there are more than two players from the same household playing.
Thank you Paul for working this out
We’ve dropped this again to 10 players minimum. We decided it was more important to have this rule on the ring games and SnGs, and since you can’t register before the minimum players have signed up, it was causing some frustration for the couples that like to play on the site, having to register at the last minute. Of course we’ll continue to monitor for collusion but for now we’re satisfied the measures we have in place are sufficient. As I mentioned before as the number of players increase on the site we’ll naturally increase this minimum as tourneys will fill up more quickly.
Thank you Paul for listening and coming up with a fix. You went above and beyond to help out the same IP’s that are here for fun not to cheat RP . Thank you
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled IP?. same ip as someone in my house and we cant play together?
In ring games you can not play at the same table, but you can play both on the same time at different tables, same for SnGs. In multi table tournaments (with 10 or more players) you can play both.
How can I get this to work? my roommate and I would both like to play on the same table
“In multi table tournaments (with 10 or more players) you can play both.”
Its will be option , but not for now play in ring games, only tour for now.

Right now there’s no way for you to play against your room-mate on ring game tables. Only as Maricpan says, in MTTs of 10 players or more. When we launch home style games, then you’ll be able to play with your friend as much as you like, but there’s no ETA on that, but I hope it’s something we can launch this year.
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Multiple players,Same IP address. Why can’t my wife and I play from the same IP address, on different computers? We want to compete, not collude! The answers below say it is OK. I get a message saying not allowed.
For now its a no-no, but will be. Its hard to choose who is colluding and who not, this way, RP can assure the fairness of the game. You can play tournaments with her.
Hi bawdo,
You and your wife can play together on multi-table tournaments that have more than 10 people participating, but unfortunately there’s no way to override this restriction for ring games or SnGs. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Cheers, Lesley
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Is there any way I can play with a family member on the same IP?. I understand the reasoning behind it but is there not a special room we can go in or anything to play each other? I’m sure the other week we could play Paris Cooldown but it’s now saying he can’t be seated as someone is already using the same IP address.
Is it possible to play the SnG HU tourneys together? He only has 2.5k chips at the moment so he can’t enter at the moment but if he got some more chips would that be possible?
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled IP question. My roommate and I have been playing on replay for a few days, and have the same Ip, so can’t go head to head. I was wondering if there is anything I can do aside from going over to a friends and using their internet connection to play against him?
We have plans to add “home games” in the future, which will allow you to create private tables for just you and your friends (regardless of IP), so stay tuned for more updates on that. In the meantime, you can play in tournaments together as long as they have more than 10 people registered, so unfortunately that means no HU SnGs.
Cheers, Lesley
Unfortunately there’s no other way around the IP restriction at this time. We plan to add private “home games” in the future that will allow you to play together, so keep an eye out for updates.
Cheers, Lesley
Currently, users playing from the same IP address cannot play in the same ring game, but they can play in the same tournament so long as 10 or more players are registered for that tournament (which unfortunately includes a lot of SNGs).
We do have plans to add “home games” in the future, which will allow you to create private tables for just you and your friends (regardless of your IP addresses), so stay tuned for more updates on that in the future.
