In this 135 million chip hand, the biggest ever hand won by jazzbythebay, the opponent seems to have a straight 9/10/j/q/k AND a straight with an 8, but somehow jazz takes the pot with a lower straight.
How did this happen?!
In omaha you have to use 2 of your pocket-cards. jazzbythebay has got 8/j → straight. greyjack doesnt had the jack. So kk high.

So, you can only use three of the cards on the board? Is that right?
so if the board was 9,10,j,q and I have K,K,5,4 I wouldn’t have a straight because I would have to use only hte 10 jack and queen, and then that + a king isn’t a straight?
Yes, that is correct. You must use three cards on the board and two from your hand in both Omaha and Omaha hi/lo. The best combination of the resulting five cards wins.
This is why it is called a Community card game.

Very well explained… a lot of people get it wrong, so good to see a clear explanation.
