Excerpt: Previously, Flubot has been noticed operating a fake FedEx website targeting Android users in Germany, Poland, and Hungary in basically the same way. By sending text messages with a parcel tracking URL that led to malware downloads. Initially they operated in Spain (with Correos Express as the sender), until some arrests were made there which slowed the operation down for a while. It would not come as a surprise if the continued success will lead the Flubot operators to target the US next. (…) Unless you know exactly what to look for to determine whether a message is actually coming from the claimed sender, it is better not to click on links in unsolicited text messages. Which is always solid advice, but when you are actually expecting a parcel, the message may not count as unsolicited in your mind. Our first impulse is often to click and find out what’s up. At the very least, we should stop and ask if the message and the URL stand up to scrutiny. If you think the message is genuine, it is still best not to click on the link, but instead search for the vendor’s website and look for its parcel tracker. [“Smishing” is an SMS–a text–message fishing for your personal information. According to Malwarebytes Labs, this is currently causing problems in the UK and EU countries, and is expected to hit here in the USA soon. The article below the one linked gives additional detailed information about smishing The articles are worth reading, especially if you use an Android-type cell phone. Excellent advice… also, hover your mouse over the link and on Chrome (I don’t know about other browsers)… the description of the origin of the link apears at the bottom of the browser… Just don’t click it !!

I don’t ever worry about that. First of all I have apple systems on everything instead of android and I have email notification on package delivery from FedEx, UPS, USPS. You can set it up for free on the website of each. Additionally you will get a notification by email (never text) when it is delivered. Amazon delivery is also included because they use the same delivery vehicles plus there own notification system. Be safe out there and vigilant. Watch your Android devices !!!
