Flash player problems with Linux

I can login, but as of May 14, 2015, when I pick a table, it says I must upgrade my Flash player. I checked, and my Flash player is the newest available for my Operating System (a Linux flavor). There are no upgrades available.

Anybody else having Flash problems?

Hi Michael,

Sorry to hear you’re having issues. Couple questions for you:

What flavor of Linux do you have? What browser are you using? What version of Flash do you have installed?

We’ll do our best to help get this figured out.

Cheers, Lesley

Been a while since I’ve messed around with Linux. Would “Gnash” and/or “Lightspark” (if they’re even still being used by gamers) be a viable alternitive?

Hi all: Sorry for taking so long to acknowledge replies, but it has been fascinating to me. I am having an interesting time learning about the Flash player that is required by Replay Poker. My Flash player was not out of date or anything, but the generic message requiring an upgrade was generated by something else. And that’s where the interesting comes in … I have been having trouble with Firefox taking over my system for 5-8 minutes a time, usually twice a day. In Linux, I used the Netstat command to find this out - it tells you some of the network connections. As I read up on how to stop some of this, I must have “accidentally” turned off a command in About:config that makes the Flash player unhappy (I disabled some data transfers?) and triggered an upgrade message. I’m not happy about this and I am not going to play poker here until Replay Poker tells more about what data it is harvesting from users. I may be wrong about this, but I may be right. Also, Lightspark will not work as a Flash emulator here, Methinks this is more about data capture …

LOL yeah I have kind of given up on Firefox for the time being because of the Flash conflicts/bugs.

Been running Google Chrome with the http://www.appforchrome.com/flash-player-pro.html app.

Hi Michael,

We are not mining any data from our users. This is actually the first we’re hearing of such a problem with Flash and Linux, and half of our devs are on Linux machines.

The upgrade message is shown when there is any sort of Flash error, so it’s not necessarily something nefarious on our side taking place.
