Donks, we’re all Friends with @Badonkidonk, not just because he’s a great guy, but because Replay requires members to be Replay-friends with each other before they can exchange messages.
As I’m now the league Organizer, I’m going to need everyone to be friends with me so I can send you messages on occasion.
I’ve already sent everyone in the league rosters a friendship request, but I’m still seeing that some of you have yet to accept it. It’s easy to miss the notification on these, but if you go to your Friends page and click on Pending Requests, you should see the invite from me. Or you can just browse to my profile and send me a friendship invite.
The sooner we can all do this, the better.

ATTENTION SILVER DONKS
Problems registering? Tournaments not visible on the League page?
I’ve just learned that some of you may have had difficulty registering for the Silver tournaments this quarter. Since our buy-in changed from 100k to 50k, if you have filters applied on the league page, you may not see the 50k tournament. Turn off the filters, and the missing tournaments will become unhidden.
I’d like to get the word out to players who haven’t made it to a game yet this quarter, in case this is the reason why. If you happen to talk to a member and this comes up, please fill them in on this solution.

2021 DONKS SCHEDULE SURVEY REPORT
In late Q4, Badonk’s Donk’s Advisory Board discussed proposed updates to the schedule for 2021Q1. As part of this effort, we created a survey which went out to all members. The survey was very successful and helped to shape the recommendation that eventually went on to be adopted, resulting in the creation of our new 3pm Sunday tournament.
In the interest of transparency, I am sharing the report I authored using the data gathered by the survey, which represents hours of analysis of the data. I am very grateful to the members of the league who took the time to respond to the survey on short notice. Thanks to you, the survey had a 63% response rate, which is outstanding, and, I believe, represents the vast majority of our active members who participate regular in league tournaments.
My intent was to publish this report with the announcement of our new game, ahead of the start of the current quarter, but due to all the other things going on behind the scenes with league management, it was delayed.
We are continuing to monitor the participation levels in Q1 with our current schedule, and will evaluate the success of the schedule, and potential schedule changes in future quarters. I’m always open to feedback and discussion on the survey, the report, its findings, and our decisions. Donks, I’d like to draw your attention to our latest feature on our leaderboard spreadsheets. On the very far right of the Stats tab, you’ll now find your total number of chips won from your league tournaments so far in the current quarter.
How cool is that?
DONKS TOURNAMENT SCHEDULES ON GOOGLE CALENDARS
Get reminder notifications on your smartphone
Donks, I have created schedule calendars for our league tournaments using Google Calendar.
It’s an easy way to avoid missing your next tournament’s start time. It’s very easy to set up; just click the link, and import the calendar when prompted. Each calendar event has a link directly to the league page where you may register for the upcoming event.
Originally I created these for myself so that I could set up recurring reminders for all the tasks I have to do as league organizer. But I quickly realized that they could also be useful for regular members, if I shared them.
These are free and public calendars that can be imported into your personal device’s calendar app, giving you the ability to set up notifications and reminders when our tournaments are about to happen.
So hopefully a few of you find them useful. If you have questions about them or need help getting them set up, let me know.
SOME POINTS OF CLARIFICATION ON THE Hee Hawl of Fame Tournament of Champions
Hee Hawl of Fame tournaments are for Hawl of Fame members on a permanent basis, and winners of our regular tournaments from the previous week are invited as special guests.
If a Guest happens to win the HHOF tournament they were invited to, they remain on the guest list for the following week.
Our tournaments are scheduled for Monday this quarter at 7pm. Due to the short lead time between the completion of the Sunday tournaments and the Monday Tournament of Champions, winners from the Sunday tournaments are invited to play in the following Monday’s tournament. This is to give the guests enough advanced notice to plan to be in the game if they can.
Currently the HHOF ToC series alternates its starting time between Mon 7pm and Thu 3pm every quarter. This is a compromise solution to give Euro Donks who qualify to play in these tournaments an equal opportunity to participate in them.
This scheduling is not the ideal solution, as it doesn’t allow for Euro Donks to play at a convenient time this quarter if they earn a spot on the Guest list we don’t currently hold it over for them until the quarter when we play Thu 3pm. It’s just too much to keep track of. If it were possible, I’d issue “tickets” to Guests that you could use to play in a future game of your choosing, but this is how it is. And of course, the 3pm times are not convenient for many of us as well when the tournaments are held at that time.
So this is something we will look at and discuss for future improvements to the league.
