I think they wore smoke generators to make them easier to track from the ground.
He trained and practiced for 2 years before he tried this jump, and had jumped more than 18,000 times. He was also a special forces jump trainer. He is a serious fella, and didn’t take this lightly.
23 year old guy free solos 3,000 foot El Capitan, no ropes, no safety gear…
